Up-date photo's of magma my odd red classic corn. He is just a little personal project that I'm working on. Magma is his name and not a morph or trade name. Red is my favorite color and that is why i picked his mother and then him. I plan to do some lind breeding and see how far i can go with the red color. Here are the photo's.

Nice! I can see why you're so fond of him!

Thanks

He's beautiful! I really look forward to seeing the results a few years down the line!

Thanks, Next year will be the first time he will be bred back to his mother. If most of the clutch looks like him I will be very happy with that. I have hope that they will have a better looking red then magma. Only time will tell.

were there any albinos in his siblings?

No albino/Amels. Magma's father is a light pink & white snow corn. He is in blue at this time, but after he shed I can post pics.

The only reason I ask is because I have a female that looks almost identical to him but she is a definite ultramel. That is why I was asking if there was albino in the mix at all.

Lovely dark red, what a great project.

Thanks, and that dark red is what i like. I'm also looking to use him & his mom in a bloodred project. I want to start an "old school" bloodred project.

Sweet Magma is definitely beautiful and red.

Thanks

To the best of my knowledge their is no Ultamel influence. Feel free to post pic of your girl if you want.

The old school blood sounds a great idea, I've got a Leach blood x here who'll be meeting some ladies next year!

Here's the boy himself, Twopersons my evil bitey darling that I got from Vinman. I'll have to try to get some pictures without flash so I can show how dark he is

Fantastic. What are your breeding plans for him?

Well he was bred back you his mother last year in hopes of getting a few more like him. They hooked up but she never laid any eggs. I'm going to give it one for try this year and if she fails to lay any eggs then she will be retired from breeding. Magma is het for snow, so he is also being paired with my granite corn. This will produce some anery that the pet store are willing to buy. I hope that i'll get a female that may look like him. If i can produce a hight amount of babies like magma. Then i bring in a good diffused (bloodred) corn to start an old school bloodred project.

I love red corns- and the coloring on those two is excellent!

Hard luck on breeding him back to his mom. Hopefully it pans out this year!
