Eye Color

Just curious how eye color is determined with the morphs. Do certain ones have a certain eye color? I've seen like an icy silver, green, red, black, etc. I figure it's related to being albino and whatever but I'm trying to understand and need some pro advice. Thanks! :santa:

Yes, eye color is directly related to the morph. For the most part (non-amel based morphs), the iris takes on the ground color of the corn. There are a few exceptions (i.e. Golddust) where the eye color is completely different.

My Golddust has olive green eyes, which is probably my favorite thing about the morph.



Eye color is definitely related to morph, as Robbie said. Occasionally, people get ghosts with blue eyes, or something anomalous, though.

There is the color of the iris and also the color of the pupil. Both are related in pert to the morph. Any homozygous amelanistic morph will have red/pink irises and pupils. Non-alem morphs will have a variety of iris colors and for the most part, a black pupil. The exceptions to the black pupil are the ultramels and some examples of some morphs which have what is called "ruby eyes". These are most commonly seen in some ghosts and hypo lavs, but I'm sure there are other morphs which might show these. But be aware, not all ghosts or hypo lavs will have ruby eyes.
