Expo pickups!

Lolo

Surrounded by snakes
I just got back from the Herp World Expo in San Mateo (CA), and came home with two new babies - a female ghost motley and male anery bloodred. :) I had only planned to get one corn, but couldn't resist the deal... he offered me the second for an extra $25, on top of $50 I was spending on the other. Not bad, eh? I haven't decided on names yet, but here they are!

Male anery bloodred... I love the skull pattern on his head.

Thanks all! I just checked on them, and they are both settling in well. Btw, does anyone have a picture of an adult anery bloodred? I tried searching online, but can't come up with anything that looks right... curious as to how he'll grow up, LOL.

Congrats on the new additions :D I'm totally jealous of your ghost motley, I need a female for my new little male.

OMFG... I just went to check on the babies, and my girl had escaped from her tub! :( After about 15 minutes of searching everywhere, I found her safe and sound behind one of the racks. Whew!! I added some clips AND tape to the lid, so hopefully this won't happen again. Sneaky little bugger...

P.S. I've decided to name the girl Wednesday (after "Addams Family") and the boy Roger (Jolly Roger - for the pirate-like skull on his head). :)

hey cool man, I was there two. Not a whole lot of corns but it was still a cool experience. Good thing you found your snake though.

Try doing a search for "granite." Both are beautiful! You're so lucky you found Wednesday so quickly!

Oh, is a granite the same as an anery bloodred? I'll definitely check them out!

Btw, can you believe that Wednesday escaped again?? I had three binder clips and tape on the lid, but apparently a 6qt tub just isn't going to hold her. Luckily I found her this time too, tightly squeezed under another rack... at least she's predictable! I now have her in a very secure critter keeper, with a heavy item on top for good measure. I also added some carefresh bedding (I had newpaper in the tub), and after realizing she couldn't escape, she settled down and buried herself in the substrate. I should change her name to Houdini, LOL.

Yeah, the people who bred her looked confused when I asked "Are these granites or pewters?" They're beautiful critters though. Good luck with your escape artist! :p
