'01 Serpenco ????

Well here she is my 2001 serpenco problem feeder. She's eating great now but she is a little undersized I think. She's only about 16 inches. I'm still not sure what she is but I'm planning on buying a Lavender this year and I guess I'll try and find out the hard way. Sorry not a better pic but it always seems that when I get the urge to take pics the snakes aren't feeling very photogenic and this was no exception. She's in shed and refused to stretch out or leave the moss.

This one is an older one that shows off her color better.

Thanks for looking. What do ya'll think?

Yeah I did....

But I bought it at a bargin $10 because it was a problem feeder I got like 6 different ones. Three lived. But now I don't know her genetics so I'll be experimenting. Early opinion when I posted was that she was a ghost but as she's gotten older some people started calling her a Lavender. Either way I really like her color and can't wait to see what she looks like as an adult.

If it does turn out to be a lavender that would be great getting it for 10. Hey Rich, any problem feeders, feel free to send them my way, and expect an order from me once i get paid. I got the ok to get as many snakes as i want

Wow Nova! What'd you have to do to get that okay? lol

I thought Rich still labeled them even if they are problem feeders... Hmm..?? Does he take problem feeders to shows or did you order? I think I'm now ready to tackle the task of tying to get one to eat. What else did you get at the time?

Well, whatever she is, she is bautiful. Did she ever have to be forecefed? It kind of reminds me of the hypolav that carol posted on Franks thread aways down... check those out... and now does, it can be hard to tell a ghost from an anery in some cases..Keep us updated.

I guess an explanation is in order......

About the time that the Raleigh, NC show comes around we are up to our eyeballs in baby snakes and the problem feeders (lizard feeders, scented, split brain, etc., etc.) are about to drag us under with the work load. Even figuring if only 1 out of 100 is a problem feeder (I wish!) then we're talking about 300 to 500 of them to deal with. My wife has taken them over so I can concentrate on getting the feeders established and doing well, but once I see the work load getting to her, I know it's time to dump some of them. Yeah there will be a lot of nice animals there, but I value my wife more than those pesky pain in the butts, for sure.

So we load them up and take them to Raleigh and stack them all in a Bargain Basket for sale for $10 each. The catch is that nearly all of them will be unlabeled and unsexed. You look through the basket, and if you see something that catches your eye, you pay the $10 and take your chances. Just don't be offended if I decline to answer your questions about an identification of the animal, because that's the deal I am offering, take it or leave it. I have a big sign on the basket to point out to everyone what they are getting in to. Even so, I still make sure anyone purchasing them knows they are known problem feeders before they make their purchase. A lot of people see the price tag and don't see anything else.

Now this does have it's drawbacks. At one or more of the shows we've done, I have personally seen other vendors buy these problem feeders, and then turn right around and put them on their own tables for sale for a lot more money, claiming they have just hatched out, or some such truth stretching. Matter of fact, at one show, a kid came by our tables trying to sell me a baby Lavender corn that he claimed had just hatched out the day before. Only problem is that it will still in my deli cup with my ID number on it. Evidently he had either forgotten where it came from or someone else at his table actually did the buying from me. He did turn an interesting shade of crimson when I explained the situation to him.

And before anyone asks, no I do not offer this to anyone via mail order. A few of the wholesalers will take a batch of them this way, maybe 50 or so at a time, but I have decided there is no real good way to do this retail.

well I guess that means I need to find a way to that show in NC! I need experiencee with problems feeders - yeah that's it... maybe my wife will buy it anyway..!

Rich, I apologize.....

if I hit a nerve or something. I was not posting this because I was offended. Yes I have emailed you asking what she was, but you can't blame a guy for trying. Or maybe you can. But either way all I wanted was to get a consensus as to what she was. And whatever that consensus is I plan to buy a male of it this year. I look forward to finding out actually. I mean either way she turns out, ghost or lavender doesn't matter to me. Your line of ghost is one of the best looking in my opinion. So in other words sorry if I offended and if I did then tell me and I will edit post or delete it if you want.
