handling still difficult
Hi there ,how exciting a new snake tomorrow

yes we are brand new to snakes my son took a keen interest in reptiles about 4 years ago ,he has begged for a snake ever since ,unfortunately I'm terrified like really really scared

.Anyway he is now 14 and I feel mature enough to care for snake himself although I do shout my orders after researching for the last year.He knows Theo (I think he has finally been named but he claims no need to sign birth certificate,so no immediate rush

) is his responsibility and if I think his care is not exceptional he won't keep him and he knows I mean what I say !!! He has been with us since Hogmany now and I must admit my fear of him is getting better I go into his room when everyone out and talk to him and he comes out his hide

baby steps I still have no idea what he feels like lol .It's funny as my son likes me beside him still when handling ,I talk him through supporting him and making g him feel secure so in a way it's team work I'm just not hands on

.Feeding has went really well for us so far although he won't strike or take from tongs ,pinkie always left on kitchen roll which has always been taken after 30minutes at the longest.Handling is still short and but it's all about confidence.Jordan is worried he freaks and gets out his hands and bolts so he handles him still sat at a chair beside viv. Sometimes he just sits spiralled up other times he more interested to move about again this is a learning experience for Jordan with me commentating stay calm he is more scared remember keep him secure let him feel you .He said the other day he wishes he had got him a bit older but I disagree he loves him to bits he is just nervous which of course Theo will sense. Tempted to have a wee handling sesh in bath so Jordan can buildhisconfidence if he does bolt .Anyway that's my tiny update hee hee any advice greatly a toy appreciated as always xx Good luck with your new baby ill look forward to hearing about your journey Kim x
