4th & 5th Clutches Hatching Now...

Mrs InsaneOne

I See Snakes...
And it's all Jay's fault for jinxing us... though to tell you the truth I'm just glad they are both finally hatching! lol...

This next clutch was our anery motley to anery motley and I'm happy to say we have an.... Anery pipping... can't say what it's going to look like until it actually comes out though. In the mean time I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a snow or a dilute popping up out of one of the other eggs...

Whoa... dude, the sky's upside down!

Whew, back to normal now:

And the other clutch that is hatching is the one from the female snow formerly known as Piss. (We call her Ivory now...) who was paired with our Ultramel Anery (Shale) after her first prospective mate refused to participate.

We definitely proved the male, Shale, to be Ultramel Anery because we have both snows and Ultramel Anerys pipping in the clutch...

Here's the pics:
The first thing we saw this morning:

And this afternoon where there was one nose, there are now five...

Another close up of an Ultramel Anery:

And for those of you who think I can't count, because only 4 noses are showing in any of the group shots... Here is a picture of the 5th nose, with an arrow pointing him out, because he (or she) is in a very tight spot...

We believe it's a 3rd Ultramel Anery, but hard to tell since we can't really see it all that well.

Thanks Nanci, I'm so happy that they are pippy so quickly now. I hate waiting in general, though I can be patient during normal incubation times, this 15-20 days late crup was just driving me nuts! lol

Wow Jenn, there's no stopping them now, is there? :D

I'm so pleased they're finally getting their acts together, you'll be overrun with hatchlings before you know it...lol....and it's all down to Jay ;)

Congrats on the great clutches! :)

Thanks everyone! It is a HUGE relief to finally see so many noses coming out. Can't wait to see what else we have hatch out over the next couple of days!

I can even look at other people's hatchling threads without getting jealous or pouting now too! lol... :D

HaHa............... wait a minute........... Ultramel Anery? I must have a pair. Very nice indeed. Congrats!
Jay

Yeah, no kidding, jinx me too please. I wouldn't mind seeing Ultramel show up in my Cinders or Lavs I'm expecting!

Congrats on your successful clutches!!

lol... I'm rather glad you did jinx us... cause that means we don't have to wait any longer!

And yes, Ultramel Anerys... so far three of them with either two or three more expected to pip. Cause we should have gotten 1/2 Snows, and 1/2 Ultramel Anerys. So out of the 11 eggs left, we should get 5 or 6 of each.

Keep in mind too, these guys are half siblings to this boy:

So there's a chance we might get some wickedly thick bordered Ultramel Anerys or snows out of the clutch.

Here's a pic of each of the parents:
The female, Ivory:

And the male, Shale:

I'm only planning to keep one female ultramel anery from the clutch, so the rest will be available after they eat. =)

I have always liked this guy. As soon as Tim posted a picture of that one I was very envyous. The borders on him are incredible.

PISS!!!!!!!!!!!! She is cool in her own right. She looks like buttered pop-corn. You should think about test breeding her for Caramel.

You know... I still don't see what's so special about him? I still call him the 'Ugly Thing'. The thick borders are impressive, but his colors seem kind of vomit-like to me. lol... Maybe as he matures I will learn to appreciate him more.

I think Stephen might have, as she belonged to him and he sold her to Tim (the other Tim) and than we ended up with her and we'd been planning to breed her to an RO because of the thick borders, but our male was having issues this year.

So, caramel is a possibility and in 2010 we might pair her with one of our caramel boys - like the stripe. But next year she will give Sandstone (our RO) a second chance to 'do the deed'. lol

 Ya, I had a plan to breed my Ultramel with my high white RO in hopes of making Ultramels with thick boarders. When I saw a picture of yours last year though I was somewhat disappointed with the result. I think the updated picture already shows some promise though. I'll just have to wait and see how your guy progresses to see if I still want to carry on with the project. I think it does look like he'll look a bit cooler as he colors up though. If not you'll have the ultimate Vomitel! :grin01:
Perhaps Ultra would look cooler with thick boarders. That would throw my RO out of the picture though.

On a different note, very cool clutch hatching out! I can't wait to see the Ultramel Anerys fully out of the egg. Congratulations!!!

Exactly! Though, with time he may look much better... I'm just not going to hold my breath expecting him to become a stunning beauty over night. =)

After he sheds next I'll post some newer pictures, cause he has gotten a touch more color in his boarders since that last picture was taken. (Thankfully).

Now, I wonder if other morphs, when combined with the thick borders of an RO or Okeetee, would make a difference in that washed out pasty color of the hatchlings? I'm curious to see what effects it has on Anery - which we'll get to see maybe when the babies emerge from the one clutch.
