A Conversation about Libertarianism

My children just have to be kept in line. Like every other lost sinner their mind is prone to wickedness.
I've never heard of Jesus calling a child "sinful" or "wicked". So, I'm not sure where Lavender gets off doing it.

Responding to bait in a thread is one thing... your comment is just so wrong, and takes me to such a sorry place for those children, that I have no choice but to respond.

A child is NOT a possession. You can not say that you have the right to control them, simply because they're at the mercy of your protection, and your guidance. Parents (or parental figures) are ALL that a child has. They're born completely empty slates before YOU fill it, and yet they have the potential to be something greater than you could ever create or imagine... The next president. The scientist who cures Cancer. The astronaut who discovers life on another planet.. literally anything they want to be in the world.. IF they get the exposure, guidance and positive reinforcement in their lives, and that responsibility weighs at least 95% on you. And there is a point to which you can't possibly ready them for those successes, or those positive experiences in life, if you limit them to the primitive beliefs that your upbringing may have had. You can (and will) do irreversible damage to the very core of their beings, and it's not for them to suffer from your experience, whatever it may have been.

The wicked are estranged from the womb:

they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

4

Their poison is like the poison of a serpent:

they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear;

5

which will not hearken to the voice of charmers,

charming never so wisely.

6

Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth:

break out the great teeth of the young lions, O LORD.

7

Let them melt away as waters which run continually:

when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows,

let them be as cut in pieces.
