The pictures are lovely...from what I can see...but your watermark is obnoxious. I understand a watermark, I am an artist too...but the way yours is now, it's blocking half the snake. I would think about something thinner or smaller so we can see how beautiful your snakes really are.

I guess after finding someone selling copies of your pictures, it's easy to get carried away with a watermark. Will tone it down next time.

How big is your mirror board, and where did you get it? I have one but it's only 12" x 12" and seems to only work well for hatchlings.

And what is the first snake you have pictured? A ghost? I love the pinks.

Thanks for the reply. We didn't use a mirror board, it's an acrylic sheet (about 4x3). The first picture is a Pastel Ghost Motley.

I understand completely. I have had artwork on ebay being sold on mugs and mousepads....it's very aggervating to the extreme. I have found that only posting small versions with small thin watermarks has actually worked! I think your collection is great...nice animals!

Thanks everyone for the replies and comments. We have these photos and a few more in a web gallery (http://TheCornPit.com/Photos.html) and they don't have to have the watermark to hinder the view, since it's a flash gallery (more secure).

Hope to see some of you at the Daytona show in a few days.

Thanks, mines acrylic also, but like I said only 1'x1' making it difficult to use for larger snakes. Stupid me, I never thought of just looking for 'acrylic sheet' online, as opposed to mirror board. :laugh: Occams razor.

If I may ask, how to you go about lighting these shots. This is the best I've been able to get...as you can see I don't have it down just right, all too often I get surrounding objects in the image. Any pointers?

Beautiful Snakies! Those are some nice photography skills you have. We too, enjoy the reflective images, which can sometimes be a pain to get lighting right.

PS WaterMark Remarks are dead on! Kind of takes away from the pics. Maybe just touching the snakes a little will help?!?! JMO

For these, a light on the side, one raised up in front, one above pointing down from above. Angle of the picture is most important, so you don't get any unwanted reflections of items in the room.
