A little snake story :)

Hey everyone! I've been lurking on this forum for a while, reading the occasional post, but I haven't really posted or anything... so I figured it was time to introduce myself :)

I'm Eline, 23 years old, from the Netherlands. I started keeping corns about 4-5 years ago as a result of people at home being allergic to anything and everything with fur or feathers combined with my everlasting fascination for reptiles. I brought home two lovely normal hatchlings from the Houten show that day. Sadly, within a few weeks, one of the two hatchlings died without any apparent cause. The other one, Saphira, I still have with me and she's wonderful :)

Silven, the male hatchie who sadly passed away soon after being purchased:

And a recent picture of Saphira, I still love her colours:

In the meantime, I've added some snakes to the collection. Jake, also a carolina, I bought when he was already an adult to serve as a partner for Saphira. He was incredibly nervous when I first got him, often rattling or even striking at me. By now, he's settled down quite a bit and doesn't mind being handled anymore.

Jake - so, so different from Saphira even if they are both carolinas:

From this year's clutch of eggs, I kept one lovely little amel called Aurora. She's an absolute pleasure to have around, very calm and inquisitive, always willing to explore your sleeves or pockets.

At the Houten show last october, I decided I'd love to have a corn with a slightly different pattern as well - I purchased a lovely anery stripe male and named him Nash. His looks combined with his gentleness and great manners have earned him the nickname "gentlesnake" among my friends, and he really lives up to that name.

Ever since I learned of tesseras, I fell in love with them. Sadly, the high prices kept me from adding one to my snake family. Recently though, I found a seller who was willing to part with her snakes for a more than reasonable price, so as an early birthday/christmas gift to myself I decided to purchase one. What was even better - the tessera was het snow stripe, making it a perfect match with my anery stripe het amel! After lots and lots of trouble with the logistics, I finally managed to get her here last friday. I'm still looking for a suitable name for such a pretty little snake.

So... that's my snake story. :)

Welcome! Reptiles are very fantastic! I have 10 different kinds too. I use to be big with corn snakes but reduced and went with a bit bigger snakes. I currently still have my first ever corn, I couldn't part with her! She is a little over 2 years and doing amazing! Her name is Tang and she is a normal.

I absolutely love gray scaled reptiles, especially aneries! Nice Anery!

Good luck and bet your future breeding will be fun.
Skully

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys! I love all my snakes to bits - some may not be special morphs, but they are all beautiful to me. That's one of the things I love about corns - I have yet to find a morph I can't see the beauty of :)
