A nice walk in the woods

Mice! They taste so nice!
Had a lovely walk this weekend in the West Midlands. This is a coppiced, managed woodland that's being regenerated. Too many walkers to spot deer this time, but we did find tracks and poo! At the badger sett there were fresh workings, they'd obviously been housekeeping, because there were globs of clay from their digging and fresh tracks.

Thanks! It's the first time for months I've been able to enjoy a hike around the woods without limping, so it was a great day out. We've spotted roe and fallow deer there before, but only tracks this weekend. :)

Nothing like a good walk in the country to blow the cobwebs away. I dont get much chance now, living in london. At heart im a country boy, born and raised in Shrewsbury(Shropshire). Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself Janine, and are hopefully on the road to recovery.

Oh, you guys live in the UK. I guess I don't see woods quite like that over here. But there are a lot of forests and parks around me, so I guess I'm lucky about that. Always interesting things to see. We were walking at the park once and a little Garter snake, not even a foot long, almost got run over by a biker, so I scooped him up with something and crossed him over so he didn't get squished. (It was one of our national parks where there are hiking and bike trails and what not, not like a little kiddy playground park)

Great pics! Wish I could take nice walks in the woods..I live far in the city which royally sucks :0(
