Corn crazed Canuck
Hiya.... I'm Chris, 28 from Ont. Canada. I haven't been "into" snakes for that long, a couple years... I originally was a lizard person, raised and bred bearded dragons and leopard gecko's. Never thought about snakes until I carpooled to a reptile expo with a local cornsnake breeder. When I dropped him off, he invited me in. I came home with my first cornsnake that day. Unfortunately he died ( I think due to my inexperience... feeding too soon after regurge, causing more regurging ).

Anyways, my collections consist of:
- way too many fish ( yes I breed fish.... love the syno species )
- 1 dog
- 4 bearded dragons
- 10 leopard gecko's ( just downsized from over 30)

Snakes:

1.1 BRB ( Brazilian Rainbow Boa's )
1.0 Colombian BCI

Cornsnakes:
1.1 Snows
1.1 Normal ht amel, possible ht blizzard
1.1 Normal motley ht anery, possible het amel ( parents the same as the pair next listed)
1.1 Amel stripe ht anery motley ( that's what the breeder called them ) ( parents were normal stripe x anery motley stripe)

1.0 Red Candy Cane
1.0 Anery ht Amel
1.0 Amel ( parents listed as Miami x Miami )
1.0 Amel ht I don't know... ( Parents listed as Butter x Miami.... they had to have had hets to produce the amel.... I'm assuming my snake would be ht. Caramel)
1.0 Crimson
1.0 OCC

0.1 Normal ht. Charcoal
0.1 Anery striped motley
0.1 Anery ht Hypo
0.1 Amel ht Caramel ht Motley
0.2 normal ht amel/lavender/bloodred
0.1 hypo motley
0.1 Caramel
0.1 Snow Motley
0.1 Amber

The majority of my corn's came from one breeder, ( Simon Fung ) and I would like to introduce "new blood" into my collection but the majority of corn's around here are SF stock. I am interested in possibly getting some in from the US, so we'll battle that one when the $ allows :)

I'm working on learning all about the genetical aspects of breeding corns right now by talking to other breeders and browsing through this site. It is kinda complicated LOL, but sooner or later I will catch on.

Anyways, if you made it thru this far, thanks for reading. :)

Welcome , twentyfour corn in a couple years.... You got the bug! That about one corn a month. Ha!
Good luck to you

Hi Christine,

Glad to see you here - wealth of information about corns and genetics here. Best of luck with 2006 season,

mary v.

Welcome! Are you the fellow who bought out extreme snakes? I heard a rumor that he decided to get out of the business and was selling his breeders, then someone bought most of the collection and is going to take over his website?

Rebecca

ps- I'm jealous of all your snakes! I'm only up to 5 :( Only one is big enough to breed with a friend's male this year. Snow, Ghost, Charcoal, Amber, Bloodred oh and one normal who has been missing for four weeks :(

Hi Rebecca,

No, I'm not the one who bought out Simon. I believe her name is Cindy.... I could not afford it LOL.

I should add in, because people find it amusing, that my husband is NOT into reptiles at all. The snakes are purely my thing. He "tolerates" them, hence him finishing a room in the basement for my reptile room. ( He wanted them off the second floor LOL :) )

Ironically my collection keeps growing, but he never notices :shrugs: and I'm not one to show off a new one to him.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Nice to see you Mary.

Welcome to the forums. Sounds like you got quite the jump start. And might I say, if they are some of Simon's snakes, well, I am sure they are just stunning! He had one of the nicest collections. :)

Welcome to the Forum Chris. Good to see another Canadian, too bad you are over in Ontario and not closer to the West. lol.
