A Peppermint Something??? HELP!

iculatr

NO...WIRE...HANGERS!!!
The pairing that produced this guy was Classic het Sunkissed Cinder Amel Caramel Motley x Classic het Sunkissed Cinder Amel Caramel Motley. For comparison, I put a regular Peppermint (Motley?) in with him to show the difference. It doesn't look like a Peppermint Motley to me, so I'm wondering if it is a Sunkissed Peppermint or Sunkissed Peppermint Motley? What are your thoughts?

I have no idea what could be in there, but I don't think SK is in the mix. No shatter.

Now, I know the number of shatters is small, and no one has mixed motley in yet, but I still highly doubt that a pattern modified would reign in the effect that SK and cinder have together. It just doesn't seem to make sense to me.

Maybe one is a buttermint or buttermint motley? In any case, both are beautiful. Congrats.

While i would expect it to be a different color, I would not toss the idea out for sunkissed with that Pattern as well as not every sunkissed breeding to cinder has made that "original shatter effect on the snakes pattern.

The pattern is definitely "off." What else is in the mix that could affect it? Nothing...

I think it's a sunkissed peppermint. The head pattern matches that hypothesis as do the wonked out saddles.

This is one of many reasons why I do not refer to Sunkissed cinders as "shatters." Not all of them have that crazy pattern. I'm not sure if it is hom. Motley, but what I do know is that it is a keeper! :)

Jarrett,

Every shatter I've seen a picture of has a disrupted pattern, however, and this is key, the pattern isn't always broken and "shattered" like the original few produced. Mr. Wynn just posted a photo of a shatter that looked like what we'd expect a striped shatter to look like, but is was completely lacking the stripe gene. In other words, I think shatters will vary greatly in pattern, just as most sunkissed morphs do. After looking at your pictures it's hard to think it'd be anything else than a sunkissed peppermint. The overall pigment is lightened (sunkissed "hypo" effect) and the head pattern screams sunkissed.

Congrats, Sir!!!!!

So, does anyone think this snake is also homo motley? Jarrett, does he have belly checks? He should, if not, right?

Here's some pictures of its belly. I've never seen a Peppermint Motley in person, so I'm not sure what its belly should look like.

So I'm thinking not motley. Edit: I don't know, maybe. It will be easier to tell when he is older.

Congrats Jarrett! Looks like what I would expect a sunkissed peppermint to be. I wouldn't expect to learn enough from ventral pics on a homo sunkissed to tell if it is homo or het motley/stripe.
