at the moment, we've been calling him "ezra", after the bass player from leftover crack. i did my research and found out he's a scaret snake - which doesn't get very big, but makes up for that with it's coloring, and pattern. to make a, some what, long story short. my feline-f(r)iend had made a play-toy out of this little snake, and tore him apart. i was able to get him away from my cat, and he seems to be doing just fine. he's actually in blue at the moment; and hopefully, within the next week or so he will be completely healed and ready to go back into the wild :). also, if any one has any tips on getting this guy to eat, i'm listening.

I might keep him on paper towel, to keep his wounds clean, and put some triple antibiotic on the wounds. Hopefully the shed will clean up a lot of the damage.

Nice rescue! Kudos! Even more kudos for being able to let it go (if it does eat for you). I know I'd be sorely tempted - I can see my wife's eyes rolling now).

Great job! Now teach your cat to NOT eat our reptile friends... LOL.

I really don't get how you tell Scarlet Snakes apart from Scarlet Kingsnakes.

the kingsnake's bands completely or nearly completely encircle the body while the bands of the Scarlet Snake do not extend onto the ventral area, leaving the underside solid white, pink, or grayish.

Which is what I thought was going on with that snake Mike has, incomplete bands, but it was decided that that was a kingsnake. I'd like to see belly shots of Norm's new snake! And Taxidermy's snake's belly.
