A Storm is Brewing.....

Thank you everyone, for the smiles that started my day for me!
It's less than an hour from "doomsday"....
I would be alot less nervous if Rick and I were physically sound.....I wrecked my lower back earlier in the week by sleeping wrong (thank you vicadin!!) and Rick has been fighting colitis for almost a month. He is in alot of pain and is tired all the time....after we settle this thing this morning, I will be sending him home and working the shop by myself til 7:30....

The number to the Coventry Police is on my desk right now :)

Another day in paradise!

I feel like an idiot...it was no where near as bad as I thought it would be....

He forgot alot of what he wanted, and we used psychology to smooth it over..and it was fine.
I rang him up in stages, and explained everything as though I was talking to a 3 year old..and repeated myself alot...
I was firm, but gentle....
I was so nice that inside I was throwing up///

He wanted new tires, Rick washed off the ones he had....and he was fine with it...
I worked myself into a stomach ache for nothing....

But thank you everyone for your support....
I appreciate it more than I can say...

Did he forget about all the extra's he wanted then? I know he wanted much more then what you were willing to do for him. I'm hoping he was happy with what you did do for him that he forgot about all the extras.

His memory IS absolutely shot.
And we did make the bike look really good, with cleaning and touching up paint and little things that don't cost much. As long as it looked good, he was ok with it...and he forgot the rest...

Glad you're past it Beth. The next customer will be really nice with pockets full of cash. I promise

Did you get all your money? Were you appropriately compensated for your services? That's what's important. Yes, it is. As long as that was taken care of, the rest of it was preparing for the worst and hoping for the best.

Gratz,
D80

It took exactly one year...but yes...and yes! :)

Thank goodness, Beth. Got your money. Throwing up...only on the inside.
I'm really not much into hugs....but 'Big Hug' for you.

Are you still considering to refuse him as custumer from now on? Just to save your nerves from now on maybe? Because chances are nothing will change.
And if you fix his bike the next time, and he comes with not enough money, he probably will be upset if you don't want to give his bike back untill he paid for it...

Anyway, I'm very happy for you it worked out better than you expected! Don't feel stupid, you had every reason to fear for worse. But still it's better like this than the other way around.

If he ever comes back (and eventually he will,,,he does not drive and his mother is elderly and the next closest bike shop is several towns over) we will make it clear to him how things will work.

If he EVER throws another tantrum, then it will be time to tell him to never come back.

I think things will be ok....I think....:)

I am so happy this went well! I was nervous for ya and when I got back, checking this thread was the first thing I did. I am glad!

Yay!!!!! I'm so glad to read this... I was so anxious to read it, then I didn't want to click it and find a bloody mess! BUT, just about completely blood free!

I'm glad for you, Beth! I really am. :)

I am very happy things worked out the way they did. Hopefully, you won't ever have to go through anything like this again.
Congrats on a great outcome!
