A very red alligator

Alligator lizard, I mean. Hubby and I were walking home along the creek trail by our house when I saw this little guy. I've never seen such a brick red one before so I took him home so I could grab my camera, then took him back and let him go farther away from the path then where I found him.

Not much, actually, but he was REALLY cold when I found him. He was MUCH spunkier after he warmed up a bit. He was still content to sit for pictures after I let him go though.

Very neat lizard, thanks for the post, I have never seen one before, I am pretty sure they do not live where I live up here in Canada. Glad to see you sent him back to his habitat.

That's the prettiest one I've ever seen! Love their expressions. They really fit their attitudes..

I am a huge fan of Alligator Lizards and that one is quite nice!

Nice grumpy face on that guy too. I always say, best way to catch one when they're cornered is offer your finger, lol. They'll catch you!
