aggressive corn stories

Wow - I feel very lucky. My corn has never tried to bite anyone & is extremely mellow. Are you all feeding them in their viv? I take mine out & put it in a temporary container that already has the food in it.

No, I feed outside the cage in a seperate container...for now anyway. That may change as I get more snakes. Its already starting to take too long to feed at 50 snakes. Its only gonna take longer as I add to the collection. the only reason they were so aggressive this last time is that I was a bit behind in my feeding schedule and they were a bit hungrier than usual.

Miss Ruby is fed in a separate container. She doesn't get weighed as often as the others!! I feel lucky when I can pick her up in her "travel tube" (paper towel roll) and pour her out into her feeding container. She generally isn't quite as cranky on the trip back to her viv.

Never heard of "bite club" is that a thread here on the forum. I guess I have been away too long.

Scott

The Bite Club is an unofficial organization of members that have been bitten by one of their snakes. In most instances, you are required to provide photos of the wound in order for the other members to more accurately prescribe the correct amount and type of medicine. Each member has his or her own thread. Here is mine:
Official Indoctrination!

If you ask me, separate feeding container is only needed with snakes that will constrict f/t prey. Even if they do, do you realize the risk of impaction is probably less than 1/5000? For snakes that won't constrict f/t prey, just offer it on a lid or some sort of hard flat surface. Also, thaw the prey in a ziplock bag to avoid moisture which is what usually makes any substrate stick.

I don't have much snake experience but with all snakes I've ever owned I've done this, oh and I've never been bit.

It's a fact that all large scale breeders do this or some variation as well.
