Hi. Hoping you all can give me a positive ID on a baby I recently acquired. I was told it was a Miami. I don't know enough to say it is or it isn't but it looks really light (less gray) compared to some of the Miami babies I've seen. Any help would be appreciated. Let me know if more pics are needed.

From that photograph, it looks more okeetee-ish to me personally. I'm sure others will give their opinions as well. A nice looking little one, regardless.:)

I thought so as well so wanted to get some opinions from you more experienced keepers. Thanks for your help and the compliment. :)

That's a very pretty hatchling! The blacks, on my monitor at least, don't look as black as I would expect for a normal. And with the shades of red and orange that hatchling is currently showing, I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be a dark hypo.

the color looks dark brown to me too, instead of black

Too much orange in the background color to be realistically considered as a "Miami Phase". However, that being said, not all corn snakes found around Miami are the classical "Miami Phase" looking animals either.

i might as well give it my shot.......... :shrugs: when i first saw it i had thought a very dark and nicely colored normal, and yes, even okeeteeish as well. i do know that whatever it turns out to be or whatever anyone calls it, it is definitely a keeper. awesome snake.......those reds are stunning. congrats.

I think there's way too much black to be a hypo; if it was a hypo that'd be the darkest one I've ever seen by a long shot!

Looks like if it oranges up a lot and those borders get a little more intense it could turn into an okeetee; but I'd say based on those pics you have a nice looking "normal".

Looks like a very, very nice little normal to me too...maybe a "Lookatee" or Okeetee-looking corn when it's bigger...I am pretty sure it's not a Miami though, doesn't look like any Miami I have ever seen!

She is going to be one stunning snakie though! She is gorgeous! :santa:

Thanks everyone for your input. So, the majority think normal. Thanks cool. She's a very sweet/docile little one. :) Can't wait to see how she turns out.
Thanks again!
