am thinking about getting a viper boa but cant find much information on them, anyone have one? whats there behavior like? what should i watch for?

Someone on here had one a while back but I cannot recall who. I think they're very interesting and ran into the same issue when I did some research-- not a whole lot there.

Have you tried a boa specific forum?

Aren't they really bitey? I think Payton has some- Pruddick, I think is his member name.

They are Candoia, right? I don't know if Elle has viper boas, but she is pretty up on the care of Candoia.

Elle -- her user ID is Tula Montage I think -- has Candoia although I don't think she has viper boas. From what I can tell, she knows A LOT about Candoia. I'll bet if there is anything useful on the interwebz that would help you with them, she can tell you where to look. My suggestion is post a message on her wall or PM her because I don't know of any of the other "regulars" around here who have Candoia.

Viper boas are really neat but most if almost all that are available are wild caught.
From what I hear as well they are very hard to keep since being w/c and many want to eat lizards.
I have been tempted in the past but have turned them down again and again. Maybe some day I will chance a quartet of these snakes. But for now, I suggest these guys being more of an Advance snake and pass on them.

They're bratty little snakes, can be rather finicky, and aren't exactly the prettiest snakes out there (IMO). I would suggest getting some other form of Candoia.

If anything, the Candoia Aspera are the best looking of the Candoia family... I don't like Candoias in general... their heads look like they've been ironed hehe, but it's a matter of personal reference.

They are as close as you're going to get to a "viper look" with a non-venomous animal.

They are rather hard to breed though- most are WC, which is an issue unto itself.
