AZ/CA vacation photos

Absolutely awesome Katie. I am happy you had a great time away on vacation. You pictures are incredible, as usual. The Joshua Tree forest is super cool. The pictures of the herps speak for themselves but the Indigo of Vinny's is just ......well........ you know. That thing is sweet! Thanks for sharing your R&R with us.
Jay

Thanks for all the great comments guys - I am not done yet. Still have our hike with Stephanie (desertanimal) and Catherine (jynx) to post as well as the Arboretum we went to and probably a few others I am forgetting!!

This was a fun day...Joe and I met up with Catherine (Jynx), Stephanie (DesertAnimal) and Kristi to try to do some herping. The weather was a little too cool to find any snakes, but we still had an awesome hike with some great shots...

The group heading out...

Joe looks so cute in that picture! :)
I have so many pics of him from this vacation it is ridiculous...and he doesn't want me to post them...
I will have to send you some of him standing on top of that one big rock formation - it is pretty funny!!

I love how the shots with you and that collared lizard came out! That was just so awesome!

Wow Katie!!! Some day I want to grow up and be a photographer just like you. ;) You really do take some incredible pics. It was awsome seeing you and Joe while you were out here. Can't wait to see you again when you're out here for the Anaheim show. (hint, hint) Lol. JK.

Thanks to everyone that commented on Indy. He's one of the few snakes that actually has a name here. Once he knows your hand isn't food he's just like a puppy. :D

Awesome shots and trip! Arizona is such the place to be! Im jealous you were able to find so many wonderful herps... I have not been so lucky this season yet. I have found tons of lizards and only one striped sonoran whip snake, which was in Sedona.

Keep those shots coming! :D

And people wonder why I live in the desert.. I don't get many visitors, which I really like, but whats better is the fauna that exists out here.. If there is one thing of California I would miss, it would be the High Desert..

This is an Imperial - large by hummingbird standards:

I got within about 2ft of him before my flash finally startled him and I caught this photo - I know the wings don't fit in the shot which frustrated me - but still thought it was pretty cool:

Ahhhh, the Hummers'... I actually held one of those little darlings in my hands.. He had got into my garage, and smashed into the wondow trying to get out.. When it came to, it perched itself on my finger for a couple of minuetes, watching me with about as much enthusiasim as me watching him..

Beautiful pictures of the Hummers'...
