I have had my hatching Yuna for about two weeks. She is very docile and has never tried to strike us when handling however after feeding she strikes at everything! We do not handle her for 48 hours after eating sometimes longer. During that time when I change her water or even walk past her viv she strikes. If I wave my hand in front of her viv she puffs up and strikes. Today i went to handle her first time after she ate and she tried unsuccessfully to bite as soon as I picked her up she calmed right down. Is this normal?

Yes, normal. She's afraid of you and being defensive. Once you pick her up, she realizes you won't harm her.

That's definitely how it seemed to me but it's only after feeding and the first handling after feeding why would that be is she still in feeding mode?

Imagine that you've just eaten the equivalent of 3 entire turkeys. Now you see a 'bear' coming at you. You can't run unless you puke up EVERYTHING you just ate. Your only option is to scare the 'bear' away.
