oops sorry for the spellings damiens on my hand lol

As you know I'm no expert, but I'd think since it takes about 3 days for the food to digest, on the third day start putting him in a bath or just handling him alot. Since most snakes will eliminate themselves with extra exercise with days of their feeding.....hope this helps you George.

I have no experience with this as i've never had a constipated snake before... but twice a week i let gandolf roam around on the grass in my backyard and he seems to use the restroom every sinlge time i take him out... maybe you can try that... let your snake roam around a little bit get him some exercise and maybe he will defecate... maybe the natural surroundings will trigger him to defecate. I hope this helps! :)

Thanks guys, normally hes in the bath about 1-5mins then he has a massive poo :p just wanted to know because i dont want to over stress him with baths.

George, I have sixty+ snakes, and none of them requires bathing to defecate. I'd bet any amount of money that your snake does NOT suffer from constipation. Cut out the bathing completely, feed him normally, and make sure his temps are good. :)

P.S. You may want to research the term "Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy".

Just because Damien has a massive poo right after you give him a bath doesn't prove that he can't poo without the bath. The bath stimulates him to go, but he'd go anyway.

This why I keep reading these posts. That was intelligent, educated, and,oh so, evil. Go stand in the corner, Dean.

i swear my aunt has Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy.

my cousin is "allergic" to EVERYTHING and always seems to be "sick"... while in reality she is running around completely oblivious.

except that its sad because now, she's actually DEVELOPing Munchausen Syndrome because her mother keeps trying to convince her that she's sick.

weird.

I let my snake out in the grass all the time. She's never caught anything. Oh, and she's wild-caught, and didn't have anything when I caught her!

Veering off topic...

You know what I hate- I work in pediatric radiology, half the time. (Adults the other half) Parents are _so_ disappointed when they bring their kid in for stomach x-rays and we don't find anything and the exam is normal. While I can understand the need to know what is wrong- usually vomitting or whatever is just something babies do- no reason- they all do it- and you REALLY don't want me to find anything. Because finding something means surgery or worse.

Just had to say that.

Thanks guys, remember when i first got him, he never pooed for a month, then he never pooed for 2 weeks, he just doesent poo, hes getting really fat and his heads seems to be getting smaller lol,

hes not really active eather but ive been told a few ways to sort that, and that new log that was really expensive, he hates it lol, he never uses it!! and he looks at it like "move this is my home mr tree"

Are you sure he never poos, or do you just not find it??

I've never seen poo from Inez, or Choco, or I think Zee. I just saw Addy's first two poos this month.

You don't want him to get fat, George. Is he really fat? It sounds like you handle him all the time, so he's probably getting enough exercise. What kind and size of rodent are you feeding him, and how often? I know how much you like him, and how much you want him to be healthy. :)

I think they get frustrated because they are searching for an answer for their child's problem or "problem". If something is found then hopefully it can be fixed. If nothing is found... the problem persists. Stomach aches are the most undiagnosed illness next to ignorance.

yea lol his belly is getting pritty fat since i got him, but that was 2 months ago :p

ummm, i never seem to find his poos in his tank, so i'm guessing he doesent or he eats it lol, but i'm sure thats unlikly,

i fed him two crawler mice this week, altho normally hes on rat pinkys once a week, moving him onto adult mice once a week tho i think :/ donno... gona waigh him..

What do you bathe your snake in? The tub/ sink. I've done this a couple times in the past, but have always wondered if the soap residue/ toothpaste/ cleaning agents will harm the snakes?
