Het Ultra has a look? Did I miss a memo? Where might someone find info about this? :)
Not directed at you Trevor but...
Actually, I did feel guilty about that same statement, others might take it too seriously. I should clarify that I really meant that the certain lines have a "look" but that is just a guess that it comes from those lines and doesn't necessarily mean they are "het", but probably has good chance. For example it could be an F2 animal from an original Sunkissed X Ultra pairing, so it would be from those lines but also may be het for neither of those traits. Either way it's just speculation. ;)

Ok... I get it :)
I was just wondering if there was some marker that I was missing out on. I don't like missing out on things. :)

That is a really beautiful snake. I really like to sometimes see things a little bit out of the ordinary.

I know more than a few people who have said this, but I just don't see the sunkissed in that snake. The head to me look way more 'ultra' than it does sunkissed.

I have a pair of Rich's Sunkissed '06 and yours looks quite a bit like one of them. I think it's a great lookin' snake. Now that I have finally gotten a camera if I could only learn how to use it!!!!! I'm just a tad techno-challenged!!!!

Joe - You don't see the similar head pattern as shown by these 2 Sunkissed?

Not at all. I think the head pattern expressed by the snake in question looks a lot more like this:

Which are by-products of snakes that are het for ultra, lavender, and something else. I think everyone will agree that they see the exact same head pattern in the above picture as they do with the snake in question.

As I said before---I have no doubt that the snake is at least het ultra.

Joe, is that a photo of your offspring or some of Rich's? That one on the bottom looks like my snake. :shrugs: Here are some closer headshots and they are freakishly simular.

It's one of Rich's. I'm assuming it's from an ultra x hypo lav pairing, or something similar.

Like I said, I don't personally see the sunkissed look myself, but who knows. The head pattern at least to me doesn't scream sunkissed, the saddles aren't squared off, and the overall 'look' of the snake just looks to me like the works of ultra.

Now with the fact that Rich sold this as a normal, my assumption is that it's a normal het ultra---and I'm sure something else. It would be my suggestion to breed that snake to an opal right off the bat and see what happens.

Thre was some talk a year or so ago that alot of het ultra's had "crown" head markings, similar to the one on the snake in question. I could see the sunkissed look on it too, the way the markings are kinda broken up in front of the marking on the head...Very interesting, it will be a fun snake to test breed, to an opal like Joe suggested and also a sunkissed :*)

No Such thing...

In my humble opinion, there is no such thing as an ugly corn snake!!! They're all beautiful!!! Including yours.... :)
