well, i told the kids today that we should go find a snake
so i went to where i had found the juvie racer a few weeks ago (see little guy thread)
so we go around looking and are getting close to turning back when we find something.
I flipped over a rock and there was an adult racer. I called my daughter over and she got to see it. She went to get my other daughter, and when she went the racer slithered under another rock (there were several close by). I went to get into posisition so i could show my other daughter when she arrived, but got distracted by a pretty big snake shed (not sure what kind - almost looked like a garter but it was pretty big skin)
Once she arrived I flipped over the rock that I thought the racer went under - nothing there tho - so i flipped over another and there was an even bigger surprise. It was a nice bull snake. I caught it to take it home (my wife has the nice camera - and im not allowed to use it) Well she was surprised and told me not to let any of the kids hold it. So maybe out of spite you can see what happened if you do a search on youtube for "Amarantha snake necklace"
(that's the 3 year old with the snake)
The battery wasnt charged in the nice camera - so photos will prolly be up tomorrow. and ive got to turn it back on monday or i'll have to find a new place to live - lol
my oldest daughter on the way back to the car did state that this was the best 4th of july ever!
 
How wonderfuul your herping day sounds! And that video is lovely, Nanci's right, your daughter is adorable

looks like it is in blue - it left me a big present today too - i didnt realize that snake poop gets that big
the poor thing has some scars - so it must be rough out there in the wild
but it'll prolly be more than happy to return there tomorrow

That is one calm bull snake, ever one i ever delt with bit the hell out of me. Congrats on such a find, and hopefully the better half dosnt see the vid.

That was one tame bull snake... I'd love it if every bull snake I catch was like that!
