Blood Stripe Ruby, Queen of Cobras!

She was particularly scary to work with yesterday. I've put her down places, but it's always been at waist or eye level, not on the ground. Now I know she's not going anywhere, but her being on the ground means I have to be on the ground! Not able to get away as fast!

Ruby's latest development, though, is if I can catch her out prowling in her viv, and take her out, she's fine. No biting, no striking. It's just being "found" in her hide that seems to really tick her off now.

Maybe in a couple more years she'll be less feisty. But that's part of what makes her special!

That's one beautiful snake! It just might be a hybrid (Pantherophis guttata X Ophiophagus hannah)... ;)

Dan :)

Thank you! I saw miss Ruby out last night, so I brought her out for some Lost 3. She was pretty well-behaved, but she didn't really want to lay there and cuddle...

What an absolute beauty she is! I really love how she likes to show off her belly. Ya know, I was thinking, I believe that she acts like that, just because she knows that she is that beautiful!

Wayne

PS Nanci, Don't you worry that all these compliments, will go to her head?

Can't believe I missed this thread the first time around. She's lovely, Nanci. And you know I love the vividly colored snakes.

Great shots Nanci!

I bred my cobra (Pink) this year and I had a HELL of a time getting the eggs out! After all that trouble the eggs seem to have gone bad. Too much humidity I think.

That's too bad, Dave. Ruby is three grams away from 300, she's going to be ready to go next spring! By then she'll probably be 400g- I will not want to take a hit from her! She was semi-reasonable when I took her out for weighing/feeding tonight; I have hopes that she is slowly settling down. But that will be a shame if she ever gets completely tame!

She's so beautiful!I want to have babies like her next year, too!
Well, half that nice would be great! :)

Thank you! I am extremely pleased with how she's turning out. She's bred by Rich Hume, BTW.

Thats......really cool..
I looove the snkes with a fighting spirit.....They are my faves...;)
This one is a looker!

Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, I was really looking forward to some ultramels het charcoal! You live you learn, next year, less moisture.

I don't have any hopes at all of Pink settling down. She nailed me tonight and drew blood. :D Hopefully Ruby will do better!
