Bonkers gone missing ... in chair leg!!!

Just got him out but I think i really scared him :/offered him a mouse and once he took it, quickly grabbed him and put him back into his rub. had to shake him a little bit, hope he wont be sick. he has finished eating the mouse and is now in his hide, do you think he is gonna be ok? feel really bad for doing that now, but didnt know what else to do argh

Awesome congrats :) just leave him alone dont keep checking on him or anything for the next couple hours let him relax check on him in say 2 hours just to see if he regurges :)

oh I will sure leave him alone as he is probably super mad at me at the moment haha dont fancy a bite xD

he im hoping he will keep his food down, he literally wolved it down in less than 30 secs, he doesnt usually eat that quick, probably thought I was fighting him for the mouse :S

Well I know a lot of people who actually tug on the mice during feeds to get the snake more determined to eat it I have used this method a couple of times as directed by a specialist to help non feeders and it has worked. I do understand pulling to hard can harm their teeth and cause them to break

Usually people don't pull at a snakes mouth as teeth can come out and cause mouth rot. They aren't dogs you can play tug of war with. I have never heard of two snakes tugging at the same mouse, but then I've never had a garter snake crawl up my leg for attention either. I guess we live in very different worlds.

Do you tug or don't you and would you give this advice to others. I can imagine corns have been observed in nature and have never heard of two snakes tugging over one mouse.
In another thread you claim your wild caught garter comes to you in the yard and climbsiup your leg, wow that is one great pet snake.
I guess simply our world of snakes, animals in captivity or wild is very different.

Okay well you seem to have something against me for voicing my experience and even though she did you'd never know maybe next time I'll try and catch a video of it for you! Did I not just say that if you pull to hard you could break their teeth!! Maybe you should go and harp on this guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAO-Du21orw
because that in my opinion is cruelty! Quit trying to make me out like I am a good for nothing owner that could care less because I was I already told you I wouldn't be here LEARNING and quit draging you cohabbing drama into ever thread I post in. In fact why dont you just ignore the fact that I am even a apart of this site.

Regardless if they had waited for you to come along their snake would still be sitting in a chair leg !!!

I did not tell them to pull the snake out with the mouse latched in its teeth I advised to lure so dont put words in mouth !!!

By the way I wasn't referring to snakes vs. snakes I was referring to prey fighting back (hense it trys to get away before coiled) !!!!!

Thats okay the deal with that in nature (competition) dont feel bad at least he is safe now

You were doing great with advice in this thread until this comment.
I beg to differ and hang head in shame over co-habbing drama, you are the one who dug up an old thread to voice your opinion on co-habbing. Also giving advice to another new person on it being acceptable. Anthropomorphising your snake with emotions that is you also. Snakes don't love or hate, they survive.
Forgive my opinion but that is all you are giving is your opinion and sometimes questionable, that is all I am saying. I am still not bashing just asking questions and giving my opinion of your opinion.

Only if one feeds live, another hot topic, on this forum, most don't feed live so there is no issue of mouse fighting back.

Thats not bashing by questioning me about the behavior of my own snake I have no freakin reason to lie to you or anyone else on here. all I said is its something they face in nature I dont get whats so bad about it I didnt say oh yeah once he latches on yank the living out of his head to get him out of there. I dont believe they did that, they were more concerned about him being scared. geesh anyways I am not tying up someones else's forum over this! Have great one.

Bonkers sorry about this confussion on my behalf, I hope everything works out well for you any more questions I am sure susan is more then capible of answering them for you! have a great night glad to know your little guy is safe.

Well im sorry this whole thing got so out of hand. I dont want to get involved in your discussion but just wanted to say thank you for the tip getting
him out with a mouse. i didnt pull him out holding onto the mouse, I just wriggled the tube a wee bit and grabbed him by his neck (gently!!) and pulled him out. I was jst worried coz he had the mouse half way down his throat when I grabbed him.

Also wanted to say that I cohabbed until not so long ago but moved my snakes into seperate rubs cause they are of diffrent sex. I never had a problem while cohabbing and its completely the keepers own decision and responsibility if something does go wrong.

My motto is LIVE AND LET LIVE!!!!
