'Bout Time, I Say!

Better late than never I suppose..
Congrats!!
True, very true! lol

The news must be spreading like wildfire through the clutch now too, we had two more pippies at about 4AM this morning, and a third sometime before noon when I checked again to get more pics. Another 2 normals and the first amel, and boy is that amel saturated in color!

Here's the pics:
This little one kept playing peek-a-boo with me around a thin sliver of eggshell...

The Googlely-Eyed Corn:

And the purty little shy amel:

And that wasn't my camera giving the amel a red wash - it is more red and pink than red and white like previous amels we've hatched out. Pretty certain this boy or girl will end up being a keeper, but we'll wait to decide until the entire clutch has hatched out, shed, and eaten. =)

Now, we just need the other 8 or so eggs to pip! lol

Another is starting to slit! Yeah! And you want to know something weird? The one that Tim slit into back around day 79-80 (about 8 days ago now) is still alive and it appears to be a snow. I've got my fingers crossed that it will be alright... I saw it moving when I was checking on them right now. =)

I really like that amel so far. I can't believe that the snow is still alive after more than a whole week! Congratz.

In some senses I wrote the fellow off.. However I didn't hack a hugh window in the egg.. More of an astrick type of star. At least I could fold the egg back over 98% of the opening.. Tommy Tucker not dumb ...... ...

This is what I am expecting since determing there was one snow in the group.. Now if they follow suit of their sibblings ( The Eggies ) we should know for certain..

Male is, Bloodred Pattern, Het for Snow
Female is, Amelanistic, Striped, Het for Anery
Offspring are predicted to be...
25.00%, Amelanistic, Het for Anery, Het for Stripe, Het for Bloodred Pattern
25.00%, Het for Snow, Het for Stripe, Het for Bloodred Pattern
12.50%, Snow, Het for Stripe, Het for Bloodred Pattern
12.50%, Anerythristic, Het for Amel, Het for Stripe, Het for Bloodred Pattern
12.50%, Amelanistic, Het for Stripe, Het for Bloodred Pattern
12.50%, Het for Amel, Het for Stripe, Het for Bloodred Pattern

Regards... Tim of T and J

Whoo-hoo... Another snow has pipped on its own, in addition to a second amel AND an anery! We now have 6 noses poking out, one that's slit, but not poking out, and the one that Tim slit - leaving only 6 eggs that have not been opened from the inside.

Total morph count stands at: 3 normals, 2 amels, 2 snows, 1 anery, and 1 uncertain that might be an amel or a snow. This is the first clutch we've ever produced that contained more than 2 visible morphs.

Here's some more pics:
The second Amel, just as vibrant as the first...

Another shot of the amel, cause I can't get enough of them, with the snow in the foreground:

And finally, a pic of one of the normals beside the anery:

Now... it's just a matter of being patient while we wait for them to exit the eggs so I can take more pictures! :crazy02:

I decided to post the rest of the hatchling pictures in the photo gallery, so I can keep them all together. You can view them here: First Hatchlings Thread

I'll still post pipping pictures here as more pip though! Only 6 more eggs left to go!

Awesome pictures of them breaking out of the eggs! congrats on the new babies!

Melissa

Thanks! The only thing better than freshly pipped eggs is freshly hatched snakelings! lol =p

We've had another 2 pips since I posted the pics of the hatchlings in the photo gallery. Another normal and the snow from the slit egg is finally making an appearance. There's no doubt that it's alive and kicking - even though I had my doubts right up until I saw a bit of movement yesterday - now I just hope it will be a healthy, unkinked hatchling when it comes out!

Pictures to be posted in just a few...

Alright, all but two eggs have officially pipped... the count now stands at 5 normals, 3 snows, 3 anerys, and 2 amels. I'm rooting for one more amel and one more normal. Than the clutch will just about perfectly reflect the odds from the genetics calculator! lol...

I'll try to get more pippy pics soon, unfortunately the ones I took earlier didn't come out that great and the buggers weren't cooperating for me just a short while ago.

I did get some pics of the 3 additional hatchlings that came out! Am post them in the other thread now.

Congrats on the long awaited arrivals!

Thanks!

All but one are completely out now... I have some pictures, but haven't uploaded them and need to take pics of the rest of them tomorrow. It was a hectic weekend. Total count is: 2.4 normals (the females will be verified after shed), 2.1 Anerys (Unfortunately the anery female died shortly after exiting the egg - looked like she snagged her umbilical cord on something, though we're not sure.), 2.1 Snows, 0.2 Amels (will verify this after shed) and one unknown snow still in the egg. It's taken it's sweet time coming out. Not bad though, 13 hatchlings out of 16 eggs (1 of which went bad early on during incubation.).

We also have 2 pips now in a second clutch, so you can expect to see pics of them (in a thread all their own) here sometime soon! I don't think I'll have much free time for the rest of the week! lol

Jenn, Just found this thread. I'm so happy you got your pips AND that they survived the power outage! Jeez what a long wait...and wait... and wait...
Wow that one Amel is smokin',[hope you keep em]Do you think that could be the bloodred het showing through? Some of the Classic het bloods I got are very red also and have partial orangish bellies like the pic you posted on the other thread! Congrats to you and Tim.
