I've had success with the zoomed deserts and ultratherms. I've heard the zoomed rainforest doesn't get hot enough in some cases. I like the ultratherms because they are non-stick, hold their temp well, come in loads of sizes, and they're cheaper.

I've used every popular brand on the market and Ultra-therm is the only one that appears better constructed to me than the rest. Flukers, Zilla, Zoomed, Exo Terra, etc. are interchangeable as far as I can tell. Zilla comes with a soft cover over the pad which keeps the surface temps down a bit, but it is constructed the same. With most all of them, the smaller they are, the hotter their surface temps run. http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131670

I don't have very much experience, but so far my zoomed one works well! It was the only brand offered at my local pet store.

I am currently using ZooMed, and have had no problems with it so far. I have all 4 running off of the same thermostat, and all are within a degree of each other... which may be due to the thermostat probes not being in exactly the same spot from cage to cage, or thickness of substrate causing different amounts of insulation maybe. I've never tried any of the others.

I bought ultratherm because I didn't want to deal with the sticky stuff, found a good price, and had read good reviews.

I'm using a Reptitherm right now on the two tanks I have. Haven't had any problems out of either. A TSAT is a must. Temps will run near 110 without on. Not sure what's the best. Never used anything different.

I have used them all, haven't found one better than the next, just make sure to use a thermostat with whatever you have to regulate the temp.

I do have a suggestion for any of the "peel and stick" UTHs, though. Take a sheet of aluminum foil about twice the width of the UTH, stick the UTH to that and fold the sides over the top so it is completely wrapped. Use packing tape to stick it to the underside of the tank, this way you can reuse the UTH if you want to put it on a different tank or need to wash the entire tank, where water may get on the UTH, without damaging the pad or wires.

The foil won't hinder the UTH in any way.

I have only one uth, because i am new to the hobby, but my exo terra desert works very well and holds temp at a steady 85 to 88, and i check temps a few times a day.
