I just thought I'd share a couple of pics of the Uromastyx Geyri babies having some brekkie! :D (I know they're a little dark but I didn't want to spook them with a flash)

Hope you enjoy!

Gosh, those are CUTE! Do they normally live communally, or do you separate them as they grow older and larger? I have a friend with one, so of course it lives by itself.

Adorable!! I'm so happy to see them doing well!!

Thankyou Nanci! We're really pleased they seem to be doing so well! They are all back to their birth weight and some a little more at just 3 weeks old, which to me is pretty amazing! :D

Thankyou! Babies are ok to be housed together for a short while as long as there is no signs of bullying and so far all these guys are very tollerant of each other, but we watch them like hawks and will seperate if the need arises. So yes, as they get older, bigger they will need to be housed as pairs or individually :)

I believe Geyri are one of the few species that can be housed as a male/female pair or 1.2 trio if they have been raised together, seem compatible and given the optimum enclosure and conditions. There are certain individuals that just would not allow another Uro anywhere near them ;)

We lucked out when we got our pair as they had been housed together since they were very young and seem to be very compatible and happy with their accomodations. I don't think they would have bred for us if the conditions were not right :)

They are sooooooo cute!!! Are they going to be cool colored, or "normal" colored? You can tell I don't know anything about Uromastyx genetics, I've just seen some cool black and green or black and orange adults at shows.

The are adorable. :) Make me almost want one.

They are great pets and totally vegetarian which is great if you don't like bugs, but I wouldn't call them a handleable pet, not like a bearded dragon, but more a display type animal. Our adults are not happy at all about being touched or handled, so we do that a little as possible to avoid stressing them out. These babies seem to tolerate our hands much better and will even eat their greens off our fingers, but I'm not sure if that will last or if they will end up more like the adults. I'm hoping they will be tamer and less skittish :)

These are Uromastyx Geyri red/orange phase, so the males when they grow up will be vivid orange on black and the females will be a softer orange on browns and tans :)

Nice parents!!! I don't know much about Uromastyx, but they're one of those, "maybe someday" type things..

How much space do they require? I seem to remember hearing from my friend who's sister owned them (ack!) that they like a lot of space. The Reptile Kingdom store has a book on them, maybe I'll do some research, these guys are soooo sweet looking!

Yes they do like a lot of space, the more the better really. For the smaller species like Geyri I wouldn't go any smaller than a 4 foot by 2 foot floor area, we have our pair in a tank this size as that is what they were in before we got them and they seem quite happy, but we may upgrade them to bigger accommodations if we can juggle the room round a little ;) For the larger species you could be looking at 6 foot by 3 foot and upwards.

Here's a link to a really good website for more info on them Deer Fern Farms and right at the bottom of that page is a link to their main species page, which gives more info on the different species :)
