Busted... trying to smuggle reptiles

I liked the comment below the picture..

They never found the hampster up his ......

I don't really get it. If you're going to the ridiculous risk (to you but mainly the animals) of smuggling, why not choose something that's rare? Surely Royals and Leos -even albino ones - aren't exactly the sort of high-end animal that would warrant it?

You'd make more profit smuggling Mars Bars (Trans: Hershey bars)...

^Exactly. I can run down to any pet store and pick up the geckos. And the BPs are more of an online thing but still easy to get.

Heheheheh.

I've been reading the scotsman.com for years. Always has cool news.
Not that this story is, but weird and odd news....and historical/archeological stuff.

I did not know that! If you guys want to read a fun non-fiction book about reptile smuggling, The Lizard King is pretty amazing. I didn't love it the first time I read it, maybe because I'd just read The Snake Charmer and no book could compare to that, but on the second read I really, really enjoyed it. You'll definitely recognize big names in there, some still in business.

second that. but i thought it was the lizard king. unless theyre diff books. but its an awesome read to see and realize that man, some people went through some hard stuff for me to own these animals. its a great read. i would smuggle animals if it was against the law to own them i guess. i mean if you want them that bad i would do it. not that many. only one or two. for myself.

Well, are they mostly successful, or do they mostly get caught?
