Buying tanks/cages from Repticon?

I just purchased my first snakes. I got a 7 month corn that I am already housing in a 20 gallon tank. I have a ball python that is only 4 months old. He will arrive to me at the beginning of March (weather permitting). I currently have a 32 qt. sterilite tub for the ball python that I will set-up with 3-4 hides and a water bowl to make it appear cluttered. I know I will want to be housing my snakes as adults in 36"-48" long tanks with at least 15" height. I am looking over Boaphile, Vision and Animal Plastics for their permanent homes. There will be a ReptiCon near me at the beginning of April. I am wondering if I can purchase a cage or two from there for a better price than the internet, or at least for the same price minus shipping costs. I would love to have the option to look at the different cages/sizes in person and have some experts advise me on the best for each species of snake. I appreciate any input.

I went to a Repticon and the Pamona Super show and neither one had any of the cages you mentioned. I was casually looking and found nothing :(

Thank you for your input. I'm glad to know. I won't be going then. They won't even have any animals at the event anyways, so I kinda don't see the point in going. I'll order online! AP has a sale on some of their cages. I wonder for how long. I don't have the money now because I just bought that herpstat 1, but when I do I'll get some legit adult terrariums. They're so small now so I don't have to rush.

FWIW, that AP sale has been on as long as I can remember. That said, I use their cages and LOVE them.

Ohh hell yeah on that sale. I'll wait it out a few more months and then order. The AP ones look super ideal. It's like a mix between a viewing tank and a tub.

What is AP?

Often Petco or Petsmart will have $1/gallon tank sales. Those are the best deals on new, and you can find some at garage sales and thrift stores.

I went to my first repticon show hoping to see some of the different cages Ive seen online and there weren't any at the one I went to either.

I'm glad I posted this thread. I was so stoked on the repticon near my house but now that I know this, I'll just buy online from AP. AP is animal plastics. From all of the recommended terrarium brands I've found, AP is the cheapest, but still looks high quality. Other brands include Boaphile, Vision, Reptile Basics Racking systems, etc.

Are AP cages hard to setup? I am not the best at building things, but if it is a simple build with uncomplicated instructions, I can do it. I am worried about the sealant and messing up that part. How does that work?

I am thinking of purchasing a Boaphile for this reason, it comes pre-made. I am not in a rush to receive it since I already have housing appropriate (if not a little big) for their size now.

They screw together in a few minutes. The sealant comes with, and you just run a bead along the bottom seam all the way around, wet your finger, and run your finger along the bead of sealant to smooth it out. Very simple. The Boaphiles are plug and play, and what I also like about them is the single-pane swing-down glass front.

Thanks! That seems quite doable. I do like that the Boaphiles are ready to plug in and go. That's the only reason I'd go with Boaphile. I have a tough decision to make.
