Buzztail Bite Club!

Is it coincidence that the blood corn drew first blood?
Anyway, Stunning animal, and nice bite pics. Thanks for sharing and best wishes for a very colorful hatch!

Give me a holler next year then, maybe we can work something out. :)

Sounds good!!

I know, and it's killing me. I flinch SO bad anytime one of my guys jumps!

Eh, it doesn't hurt! I'm so used to it now that I don't even notice most of the time...'Oh, did I just get bit? Hmm.' :shrugs:

I'm sure you meant to post that Mr. Simon would be snuggly-warm in a brand-spankin new tank at my house by next year. Simple typo, I'd bet.

Nope nope nope! But, who knows, maybe one of his little ones can be yours... :)

Dang it!! I thought you were gonna have a great story about someone getting tagged by an EDB while you were out riding your bike and you saved his life, or something.

At least you had a funny story...

Thanks for sharing!

I hope I never get tagged by an EDB!! Buzztail has her name for a reason, though. I'm thinking of knitting her a Halloween costume that is tan with dark diamonds down the back. She has the rattling down perfectly!

BTW, I will NOT be handling this snake with wussy gloves, even after her viscious attack!

I _did_ treat myself appropriately, yes.

Been nibbled on twice so far - and its cute to watch lil Claudia try and swallow my index finger when its bigger than her - I very gently convinced her that finger wasnt the sort of pinkie she was looking for...

No bloodstains yet - shes still small - head about the size of the end joint on my little finger... its like being nibbled by mobile sandpaper..

In other news - I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome apparently, go me! *sigh* although at least mine is mild... now just waiting the tests on 14th to tell me about the slow painful blindness :headbang:

I love the piccy of the snake - lovely colour and seems remarkably calm - do they get calmer as they get older? because if mine are out in the open theres no way they would stay still for more than a second.. although Claudia will now rest/sleep in my cupped hands :)

They generally get calmer when they get older, although most of _my_ pics with a snake resting on a patio stone involve setting the snake down first thing, before it gets wound up from being outside, having the camera all ready, and quickly snapping some pics after moving the hand holding the snake in place. A few will just lay there like models, though. Fred, for instance.

If I put either of mine down outside all I would see is a small grey or reddish blur disappearing in to the distance at a fair percentage of local light speed... But then they are still so small that I guess everything is dangerous to them..

I cant take them outside yet anyways - still waay to cold for them - 14 celcius would not a happy snakelet make - and I would hate for anything to happen to them - I didnt think I could get so attached to them so quickly, but my heart is in my mouth every time one of them decides that its a good idea to dive off my arm or something...

Almost tempted to cruise the small ads looking for a reasonably priced adult but I really dont have the money at the moment - either to buy or look after another one - and I would feel bad & guilty if I felt I was neglecting either the ones I have or a new addition :(
