I want to know if a 55 gal. is to big for a 4-5 month old corn. I plan on feeding in another smaller cage so finding food will not be a problem. PLZ help thanks.

It will be a bit intimidating for your corn but If you really want to keep it in there, make sure there is absolutely no way for it to get out. Also, make sure you provide a ton of hides/fake plants so that he/she feels secure.

That's pretty big- but I've had a 6g corn in a 20L and she is all over that thing, using every square inch. It is packed with things for her to do- suction-cupped vines on the walls, a crumpled vine just in the background, climbing trees, even a hammock. Plus several hides and her water bowl and her beloved humid hide.

Thanks for the help. Its going to go in the wall of my living room and cant realy upgrade later. This is a one shot deal. I plan on putting lots of plants and vines, because it has to look realy good. Also thinking of dividing down the middle and putting in 2 snakes in it. If I do 2 snakes I might use a bigger tank the bigger the better I think it will make for good conversation. But whats best for my corns comes first.

you can divide it but keep in mind that later, you'll need another seperate tank for one of them.

Good luck though, and I'd love to see pictures when you get it done!!

hey. i started off with a 40 gal when anubis was 2 months old. i just put in 3 or 4 hides and lots of vines and branchs. she loved it then as she do now. i odnt' see how it can be a problem when they are born wild and got the WHOLE WIDE WORLD to explore. lol jmo.

As long as there are plenty of hides and it is escape proof even for a small snake, the only problem I can think of is finding your critter ;) But I'm sure it'll start prowling around mealtime!

i don't think you can go to big. because their natural habitat is also big ;-) so if you got enough places for her/him to hide and you don't have problems finding her/him there would be no problem but keep in mind the bigger it is the more heating is required.

They do live in the wide, wide world, which is a heckuva lot bigger than any viv. As long as your baby has lots of hides, s/he'll be happy. Little ones are active, and can fit through tiny holes, so make sure that there's no potential escape route. You can divide a 55-gal for two snakes, if you decide you want to do that. There are a number of ways to do it, and there's nothing wrong with that. Welcome to the hobby, and kudos to you for
whats best for my corns comes first.

:)

Thanks for the help. I just read somewhere that a big viv would stress her out, but thanks for the advice. I think that if i put alot of hide like you guys said ill be fine thank you.
