Hello

im sorry if this has been asked before but i couldn't find it.
My son and are are thinking of breeding our corns for the first time non siblings. but im looking into the future so just wondering can you mate siblings or hold back hatchlings for future mating with mom or dad brother sister ect ect

Oh yes, that's called inbreeding, and can be very useful in getting the genes you want in the combination you want.
 
Welcome to the forums. There can be some minor effects of doing this for generations, but not like with other animals. Like wstphal was saying, that's how all the pretty morphs came about (so for many snakes they're already the result of inbreeding).

To the OP, welcome to the forum.
There are several reputable breeders here that can answer your breeding questions. It is not uncommon to breed siblings together, to get desired traits.
 
As long as both animals are healthy then there's no problem with inbreeding.

Inbreeding Corns for many generations without introducing new bloodlines may exaggerate underlying problems, but this does seem to take much longer than it would with animals like pedigree dogs (just my observation - no actual proof of this).
 
Yes they can be bred back to parents or sibs together, no biggie. But if you are a nutcase like me you might buy several snakes so you can play musical hets lol. I love Corn Snakes :)
