Can someone suggest a new feeder supply?

Go Penguins!!!
Serj, our spotted python will not eat Rodent Pro rats or mice! I have tried several times over the last couple of months and end up wasting the rat or mouse. I even tried scenting with a live rat pup but ended up having to buy a small f/t rat for 4 bucks for him to eat.
He will literally strave himself before eating the supply I have. So we are thinking perhaps trying another supplier. My corns don't care where their food comes from as long as its warm LOL
Any suggestions would be helpful. We have to make another order in January anyways!

I like Gourmet Rodent and Rodents on the Road, but both of them have extremely clean, non-smelly mice.

One of my snakes won't eat ROTR rat fuzzies- I am wondering if they don't smell enough...

Thanks, I will have hubby check them out! I have no use for the 20 or so weanling rats I have left, dont have a snake big enough to eat them. I am not sure how long they will last in the freezer either!

Well, Gourmet Rodent has "smelly" mice and rats- maybe your guy will like those. My snakes all eat anything from GR...

I get mine from American Rodent Supply (free shipping to many places, min $100 order), and I've heard lots of good things about Big Cheese. Just a few more to check on!

Serj just drives me absolutely bonkers some times! He is my "special needs" snake! Came to us as a rescue, completely beat up and infested with mites. We finally got him all doctored up and Vet gave him a clean bill of health! Now if I could get him eating on a regular basis I will be a happy camper!

You should talk to Angela- Ratsncorns. She has a spotted python (I'm pretty sure that's what it is) that drove her INSANE by not eating for like seven months. I think they just do that...

Thats me! :)

I got my adult spotted at Daytona 2010. The first meal she ever ate for me was 8 months later. I was just about going nuts. But, she only lost like 30g. How do they do that? Anyway, now shes eating like a champ. I think pythons just dont like to eat sometimes. But, I have heard the opposite about spotteds so I was confused because they apparently love to eat!

At first, my girl was happy with mice. But now she wont even look at them. So then I started feeding her rat pups. I tried feeding her in a bin, worked sometimes. Tried feeding in her tub, worked sometimes. Now, all of a sudden shes eaten the last two meals in a row, in a feeding tub. Im not sure whats going on with these snakes, they just seem so particular sometimes.

You could try another source, but I wouldnt toss out those rats just yet. They will last for a while. You never know, he might change his mind about them.

I got him to eat a live rat pup and then he eats the f/t! We were told he ate f/t when he got him but he had a lot of scars that looked to me like bites! So who knows. I wait a good 14-16 days between successful feedings. Then will try a rat or a mouse and then wait a few days before trying agian! He will even lay ontop of the f/t from rodent pro as if it is a pillow!

*will eat the f/t i get from the local store but still refuses the rodent pro rats!

Thank you for the imput. I guess I just got spoiled with my corns and hubby's bp they eat like champs!

We got him to eat a fresh kill mouse and a rat pup! So it is coming along.

The mice from rodent pro STINK and have really weak skin, I don't know what they do to those mice but I'm not ever ordering from them when I start ordering frozen online. I was just checking out Layne Labs and I think when I order f/t online I'm going through them. How many mice (and rats!) do you think can fit in a little personal refrigerator freezer? I don't want to steal my parent's freezer haha.

Oh I dont know! Depends on how you leave them packaged!
Yes, my hubby and kids say they stink. I can't smell them but I dont try either. I think we are going with Layne Labs this next time too!

I have only had good luck with Layne Labs..
Clean, quality mice.. Luckily I no longer have
problem feeders..(knock on wood)
