I took out my corn to handle her today and noticed that when I picked her up, she seemed a little "soft". As she crawled around my arm I noticed that the last third or so of her body seemed a little larger than normal. This was especially noticeable at the vent, as her tail was much smaller than her body than it usually would be. The pictures are posted below.

I do track all of her feeds and sheds. Unfortunately I don't bother to track her bowel movements. However on that note. I'm pretty sure she hasn't defecated since feeding on May 29th. So I think she may just be backed up. Any input would be appreciated.

Just a little back round on the past 30 days or so.

You can probably get her to poop by just going out for a walk in the grass, or a swim in the bathtub.

She has never been in contact with a male snake before. Could she still lay eggs if that is the case? Should I be handling her or putting her into the tub if she is indeed full of eggs?

Or she could be backed up which is what the case ended up being with my Amel Motley girl who suddenly looked like that, I was also able to feel several round lumps in her and she gained 11 gms in one 7 day span between two feeds.

I offered her a lay box which she loved rooting around in, that got her to move around more and then she left me a gigantic present and went back to normal. No eggs just BIG poop!

So it could be either or with your girl.

Either eggs or she's gotta poo! If mine look heavy at the end I will just put them on the carpet & it will stimulate them to go. Or just run water on their behind. Helps em go. BUT she really looks like a preggo! :uhoh:

I'd say her feeding schedule could be spread out to 10 days or 2 weeks now she's an adult, personally.

yeah i could definitely try and do that. i only feed her ever 7 because i have a ball and boa that both eat on the same day so it's purely convenience. maybe i'll try keeping her feeder for an extra few days and gut load it.

she's a 2006. I've never weighed her but she's about 5 to 5.5ft long and between 2.5 and 3 inches in diameter. approx.

3 inches in diameter?! Wow - that lady needs a diet! Maybe you mean circumference instead, i.e. around?

Whoa that second one looks like shes gravid. When you run her through your hands does it feel like large lumps, still pretty soft though?

She looks really preggers though. Is she also particularly restless? Ive had a corn lay eggs even without any contact with a male, of course they were all slugs though. Sometimes they just do that lol.

Well good news! She was just backed up. I filled a tub with some water and let her go for a swim. Within a minute she had gone, and boy did she ever go! haha. Thanks to everyone who replied to this thread with advice! Some pics of the whole experience below.

Ew... but better than dealing with slugs.

I should start soaking my corns weekly. The little normal loves water, and my okeetee never seems to poo after digesting his food right away like my normal.
