I think we all would what a suprise like that in our ceral. On a warning note however I am worried that this might be a move on the part of anti exotic pet groups here in the UK ( as if things were not bad enough as it is). I have been relayabliy informed that stunts like this but with fakes then replaced with live animails have been used with other exotic pets notabaly the Camen. To try to get tighter laws passed and have also been informed that it is quite likely that this sort of thing is now also being done with taratulas. Obviously I cant say more than I have as I dont have the proof but I trust this person and have been on the fringes of a simular type of thing before now.

Too bad the wrong kid got that prize, so traumatized he can't eat lol. Most of us would be going ot and buying more cereal...
I have nothing for disgust for the kind of person that would do that to a corn though, who knows how long it sat in the box on the store shelf. You have to wonder too if it was planted at the store or earlier in the factory, it is definitely lucky to be alive.

nice surprise! i feel sorry for the snake though,he would've been disgusted if they'd poured milk on him! :grin01: seriously though, who could do that? :shrugs:

Yeah, I remember last year when this story first came out. At around the same time, a lady found a corn snake in her post office box. Everybody's lucky but me... :sobstory:

:grin01: I love the caption under the picture, "corn snakes can reach up to 6 ft".. almost as though they're trying to warn you of the MONSTROSITY you may have on your hands if you keep one.....

man, it's gonna take me a minute or two to recover from that one.

yeah, they make it sound as if corn snakes are absolute giants with a bad temperament. you'd think that they'd of gotten their facts straight by now, wouldn't you? :shrugs:

That is exactly what they are trying to do get the public on their side so they can get the laws they want passed and they are using stunts like this to do it. First they did it with fake camems in ponds and hyped up how dangerous they were now they are doing it with things like corn snakes and tarantulas. And on top of that they are doing loads of lobbying etc to get the laws they want hell they are even going for birds like parrots and macaws though for slightly different reasons for the birds.

sorry but i have to raise the b.s. flag on this one. story's a little sketchy for me to grasp firmly. i completly agree with sarah s. on this one. there are too many laws in the making to believe EVERY 'horror' story that comes along. anyone in louisiana knows exactly what i mean. we may be headed for trouble around here thanks to our government leaders and lawmakers.

crap

I think its pure crap. Sure it would be a great suprise for one of us but the ignorance of people and snakes is undescribable! Of course its HOLLYWOOD once again you can blame from that crap.

I wish in this case I could believe it was just hollywood but I fear otherwise I fear for our hobby and that of other extotic pet keepers here in the uk.

it's a good thing that more people are keeping reptiles as pets, i think it shows a shift in attitude. the best we can do,as reptile keepers,is educate people to help change that attitude once and for all. i think most people now will realise that those lobbyists are full of crap anyway!
