Cherry Motleys?

I know..I'm an Impulse buyer sometimes too..they are so cute tho.
how could say no..right?
beautiful snakes..hope to see some pics of them when they get bigger..
Thanks for sharing..
LOL. I obviously couldn't say no. Almost said, "Yes" to a few more!
Admittedly, I have no idea what a "Cherry Motley" is supposed to be but ... that is a beautiful pair of Mots!
Thanks! I like them no matter what they are. LOL.
If those were the Cherry's John was selling, I almost picked some up too!! He told me that he didn't really know what was up with them, but that they grew up to be a nice shade of cherry red. I picked up a Lavender male from him, but later that day traded him for something else.. I also picked up a beautiful pale Amel lady from his $15 tanks at the end of the table.. He told me to look closely because there were some special snakes in there.. I think his idea of special was a Reverse Okeetee, but to each his own.. Congrats on the Cherry's, they're beautiful regardless of where you got them or what they are genetically!
If there was ONE thing about John, it was that he didn't seem to want to share any info. I was trying to get to the bottom of them, but decided that I wanted them anyway. I looked through the $15 dollar tanks... but had already spent what I was comfortable with. LOL.
Perfect Mot pattern, great finds!
Thanks, Allison!

Very clean, bright, and perfect mots you picked up Fred! Keep us posted on their progress. They could be hypos or as Susan said, a pair of real clean and bright normals. Should be interesting to prove them out someday.

PJ :wavey:

Nice pickups, I would have found those hard to resist also! They don't look like normal mots or hypo ones to me... I hatched both this year. My hypo mots have a lot more orange and my normal ones have brown... But there is of course a huge variation in looks with both of those.

Looks like a typical hypo motley. Congrats.

FYI, and just so you know, Pastel Motley is a morph name that's been used by quite a few breeders for many years.

One thing people also commonly mistake is that male ghosts are always more "pastel" than females. This is a case where too many beginners think their males are "pastel motleys" and their females are "ghost motleys." It is kinda funny, actually, and some people have even proposed giving each sex its own "official" trade name based on the inherent coloration differences. That's about as skewed logic as you can get......lol. Anyway, "pastel motley" has been around for almost 2 decades as a "trade name" now, and they are just the lighter ghost motleys (usually males).

How did I miss this thread?! Fred those are beautiful! Congrats!

I have to agree that they really do look like hypo motleys. Go check out VMS site and look at their hypo mots.
