Christmas/ Holiday Viv Decorating Contest w/ PRIZE!

Alright, I finally got around to finishing my project. What I did was to make Lestat's vivarium look like a gift wrapped present under the tree (even with a gift tag for SSS...you dyk'ers should get that joke :D). I think it turned out fairly well. The lights and everything on the tree are on, but I don't think you can notice it well in the daylight.

Cute present idea!! I'm still working on decorating mine. Still have some last minute touches and a few more details to make. :]

As much as it would be cool that your pet store pick up would be a sulfer. I would say not. That picture is not it's true colors and it has no belly checkers, and will be totally different as an adult. They are still fairly htf and will not be sold in petstores. As they mature the color changes and that snake will be a buttery yellow. If you start a thread with a picture of yours we can probably identify it. But most likely it is a baby amel or creamcicle. Sulfers are just too expensive still for pet stores to make a profit from them.

Everyone has done such a GREAT job. I want to start decorating for every season now....:D :idea:


Here's my viv for Leo. I used the white carefresh bedding that looks like snow (and works great). I also gave Leo his own little bonfire (its LED light so it doesn't heat up), though a bit difficult to make out in the pictures. Definitely a fun project for the holidays, that the snake has certainly been enjoying as well. :dancer:

Here's Una in her Xmas Viv!

So, I saw this thread earlier today and thought it was so awesome I ran out and bought stuff to redo someone's tank. I have spent the last several hours putting it together and deciding who's tank to do. I decided Una would be the lucky one (my Petco pin-stripe find!)

These are so fantastic everyone! I see some people went with white carefresh for their "snow" but what are those other substrates? I assume everyone is being sure that this stuff is safe or that it's only there for quick pictures right? :)
 
Tara, mine is fake snow from a craft store, but you are right, I only put it in for the picture and then switched it out. I was worried it might make Una sick.
 
Just a reminder... this contest is open to US residents only in order to simplify and expedite shipping. We still love to see your photos of decorated vivs, but if you are outside of the US and/or cannot except delivery of the snake within a reasonable time frame, please indicate that in your post and I will not include you in the final contest.

Okay I guess it's my turn to put up pictures. Finally finished yesterday and Lazarus loves the artificial snow! He's camouflaged in it too. Being a blizzard, the snake even matches the theme!
Just changed it and put aspen back in it today after taking a few more pictures. :]
