Cibarius, my rescued Carolina corn snake

Shortbread

This is Cibarius. He was given to me and my son by someone who finally (and thankfully) realized she was not giving him the proper care. He is 7 years old and only 107 grams, having never been given anything bigger than large pinky mice. His vivarium had an inch of water under old fir tree substrate that obviously hadn't been cleaned in months, and he had no proper under tank heating. He is about the size of a one year old corn snake at seven years old. I am sad he has suffered so long, but now he has a family that will give him the love and care he deserves. He is such a sweet boy.

That's really sad, I'm surprised he survived that treatment, but that proves he's a tough guy. I'm glad he's going to finally get the love he deserves :)

I just got him last Saturday. I think he's REEAAAALLLY enjoying his under tank heater. He seems way happier and more active since I fed him and introduced him to belly warmth!!

Woah! Please please please keep this thread updated so we can watch his progress! I look forward to watching him thrive under your care!

I will! I'm going to try to weigh him every month! I'll post pictures every once in a while so we can compare to these first ones :)

I just weighed Cibarius before I fed him today, and he's gained 8 grams! And he successfully ate his first mouse with fur. He downed a hopper like a champ! Hooray!!
Here's a more recent picture. You certainly can't see those 8 grams lol! He is still so wee.

I must have missed this thread when you first posted it. He's really pretty and I'm glad he's going to get some proper care now.
