A friend of mine just gave me 3 big aquariums that I want to turn into vivarium. I was wondering what I should use to clean all of them. I've heard about salted water but I'm not sure if it's enough. Any advice? thanks!
When I do total clean outs of my vivs, usually, first I rinse with hot water, then scrub it with hot water + tiny bit antibacterial soap, rinse hot water, scrub with hot water + capfull of bleach, rinse with hot water until you can't smell bleach anymore.
Since I see you live in Quebec, the drying in sunlight may not necessarily be an option at this time of the year. I am in Ontario, and this is the method I use when there is no sunlight during the cold fall season
Cap full of bleach in a gallon bucket of water. Rinse until the smell is gone. Also feel around make sure it is not slick inside. Bleach that is not rinsed throughly will leave a slick area on glass.
