I went looking around town for a plastic container that my hatchling won't be able to get out of. And I think I found one. At (get this) the CONTAINER STORE, of all places. Seriously, it's a store we have in Columbus that sells containers almost exclusively.
Anyway, its a plastic rectangular container with handles on the lid that snap shut. You know. But this one has a rubber/plastic gasket in between the lid and the body of the container. So there's no room for a snake to squeeze through. And he'd have to be pretty strong to lift the lid enough to squeeze out. I could barely do it with my fingers.
The down side is that its only big enough for a hatchling/yearling, and it costs $18.99. But its the peace-of-mind that I paid for. Might be worth checking out.
