Depending on the actual physical location and the laws of the county and town, I may or may not be able to bring that first one pictured. I'm working on it.

Oh man! I read this wrong this morning when I first saw it (hrm, early morning, lack of coffee..), and thought the title was "come see Jeff's snow'.

I thought you were making a joke that the cobra (?) was Jeff's kind of "snow." Sill me...

No, thankfully!

Still not sure he can bring them--NC law may forbid it. Nonetheless, it will be a fantastic show!

As long as it is transported in a "locked" and labeled container. Although if it is venomoid then it won't really matter, and noone here knows the rules.

Edit: Ya just "call it a cobra rat snake, he flattens out his head like a cobra, but see he is white not brown" if anyone important asks ^_^

Oh, I wish I could be there!

Does that cobra still have his venom?

Usually, the ones I take out to do educational presentations do not as the safety factor is my primary concern .

That's the thing, NC law states proper containers for certain reptiles. With or without venom doesn't matter either as it is still "that" species of snake. There are also laws governing native species and even more over "protected" species of the state. To add one more paperwork complication, there are town, city, and county laws as well. :headbang:

Nevertheless, I'm getting it figured out from a variety of different sources. No matter what comes, it'll be fun. I have LOTS of different critters from tortoises to corns to kings to pythons to indigos (Black tailed cribos) to...well, my educational collection is large and there is plenty that can come if the other snakes are indeed restricted.

Reading over the NC laws, in 14-421 it says that animals used for education for a public or private institution are exempt, and above it does not say which species, but uses the term venomous. Also talks about "unsafe" contact with other humans, and nowhere is there any more detailed wording, so technically (as in what I would go with) it does not say you can't use a snake of a venomous species that is no longer venomous. I don't know about the local laws of the area though.

Edit: The restrictions on native species are for keeping them in permanent housing inside the state, doesn't really have much to do with out of town folk.

How did it go, Jeff? I'm guessing it was a packed house, maybe that would explain the lack of turnout at the Hickory show!

It was a good turnout....lots of families and kids.

Sorry to hear about the hickory show....thought it might go that way.....

You'll have to give me details sometime.

Thanks again for coming up, Jeff, you sure put on a terrific program! We had about 50 people total, which was really far more than I expected (but was hoping for lots).

I've attached a few photos...
