Conflict is advantages

I guess I automatically assumed that he meant to type "advantageous." I think Shaun mentioned that English is NOT his first language?

So Wade managed to get himself banned along with Chris.. What happened there, was it this thread or another that Wade needled Chris......
Anyway... Shaun is a good guy, I've said it a couple of times, but I really need to reiterate the point... To lose a member of his calibre would be so sad.... His English is excellent, but not his first choice. So he can come across a bit sharp, but that's a translation thing IMO....
I just wish Shaun would put up a bit more about himself and a few pics for you all....
I truly believe you guys are going to love having him around when you all realize who he is and what he does....
Shaun.... Can I steal one of your pics and post it for you, if your shy..... LOL

Conflict has its advantages
Conflict is advantageous
I suppose the meaning is in our perception. I apologies but I can’t say I see much difference. Conflict is usually regarded as being negative and non productive but if we consider the importance it has in what we know, we can consider it an advantage.

Ahh crud. That’s just not cricket as you Poms would say. Could a moderator update us on this Please.

…Shaun.... Can I steal one of your pics and post it for you, if your shy.....
Sure

This is my friend, Snakes inc.
He knows a thing or two about snakes and apart from rescues, and getting snakes out of your house he also runs courses on awareness... Or something like that, I'm sure Shaun will tell you all about it if you ask...

PS Shaun..... I love this photo.... And the way you have the sun glasses in your hand now it's turned around.... LMAO

Yipes! Look at the size of that beast! And that's a huge snake, too!!! :grin01:

Thanks for posting that, Mr. Whispera. I love the shot of his "training partner," too.

Oooh, black and shiney!

Shaun, what is the largest cobra you have ever dealt with?

And do you approve of/disapprove of ViperKeeper?

Thanks snakewispera snr. Yeah this is a wild Black Spitting cobra (Naja Nigricollis Woodi). Seldom leaves a dry eye in the house.
Nanci the bigger the cobras the easiest the chap is to catch. It’s the small one`s that are difficult to handle without injuring the critter.

They were warned to cease and desist or both would be banned for awhile. The warning was not heeded.
@ Snakes Inc.... This is Susan... She looks like Jane Fonda and rides horses with eagles on her arm, but don't cross her as she don't take prisoners.:roflmao::sidestep:

So you live there in cobra territory. How often do you just see one in the wild?
I am a volunteer snake catcher on 24/7 emergency call out. Last month I caught six Cape Cobra within a week and numerous others. I’ve been doing this for many years and do it for the animal that needs my assistance.

Susan I am real sorry to hear about this as it is bad news. Please would you guys see past this and reconsider this as both have much to offer?
Please rather give them a good talking too but I really don’t think either where rude, disrespectful or uncontrollably belligerent. They clearly don’t appreciate each other but hey what can I say you haven’t met my mother-in-law.

Shaun, good for you for being a snake-catcher. You probably save some humans from bites and you certainly save the snakes from being stomped, shot or otherwise killed!

How long is the hook you have that huge black cobra on? It is one magnificent beast but I have to say you are closer to it than I ever want to be with a cobra!

Ask him about the glasses the venom and the sweat.... LOL
Ok I've got to finish with my input to this thread as you guys have now got the picture and realize that Shaun isn't all he seemed when he first arrived here.....

...Shaun isn't all he seemed when he first arrived here.....

I was trying to catch the little critter. He sprayed venom everywhere but as I was wearing plastic protective glasses no worries.
The temperature was about 35 degrees so the forehead starts to perspire. Also no problem.
Then the venom becomes mixed with perspiration and enters the eyes.

Need I say more??

It is a golf stick with an aluminum hook at the end. I prefer a short stick rather than a long one. Its difficult to explain but a shorty gives me a little more control.
I save snakes and not people. LoL

SI, the explanation makes sense! A longer stick will jiggle more as the length exaggerates any small movements of your hand/wrist/arm. So the shortest stick that is adequate for your safety will give you more control of it.

And although you may only see it as saving snakes, I see saving people from snakebites benefits snakes a great deal! The fewer bites, the less people have irrational fear & anger toward snakes, meaning fewer people stomp or shoot the snake and more people call for the snake catcher. It's a feedback loop. So saving people from bites in turn saves snakes indirectly.

… So saving people from bites in turn saves snakes indirectly.
Imagine that you find a snake in your house. All panic breaks loose and everyone is outside. I am called because the family is absolutely freaked out.
It does not matter if the police, armed response, the fire and rescue and the medical rescue are on site. What are these people going to do??
I stroll in with sandals a T-shirt and shorts. It takes me a couple of minutes and I’m out of there. The difference is, is that I know exactly what I am doing. It does not matter what snake it is it will be rescued and relocated.
