Coolest name thread (First and last!)

I went to school with a Chris Peacock.... Lucky they didn't call him Drew.......

I had to read that about 16 times to get it. Tsk tsk people, haha

I just have this feeling that you are going to love my answer to your question. I have two little girls the oldest is 7 and her name is Aeris. My 'baby' is going to be 5 this months and her name is Celes. My husband picked out both of their names, but I have alway liked them.

Pure awesome-ness :D

I used to book travel for a guy named Rod Cockburn. His wife HATED their last name and made him legally change it to Coburn instead.

I also did travel for a guy named Dirk Beckett...everyone called him Dirt Bucket.

I think the most complicated name I have dealt with in booking travel is Suppachok Subudhayangkul. He goes by Setch. I still can't pronounce his last name, but I can spell it in my sleep!

I went to school with a Michael Hunt and a Michael Hawk. They both went by Mike and got called down to the office daily, and played on the football team together.
My dad knew a Jack, Peter and Bunny (brothers and sister) with the last name Rabbit.

Haaaahahaha.....life must suck for them every time they hear their names.

I was named after.....

a long arguement. You'd be surprised what name you come up with when you aren't trying.

We have a MacKenzie Madison.....
if she was a boy, Chase Allen

my porno name BTW.....Rex Craddock,Monza, Crescent

I named myself Aislin Quinn specifically for my games on Facebook. My real name is Kim. Sooo boring. I thought Aislin was just the coolest name and I needed a good last name and like the name Quinn. almost named my son that.

I see hundreds of names every day, but Goddess Jehovah Alone stands out as an odd one. I think my favourite name, though, and I saw about fifteen years ago, is Drex Wold. I always thought it would make a great villian.

one of my brothers friends went to school with a kid named Asshole (pronounced A-shoal)... i don't know what his parents were thinking...

I used to complain to my parents about how i hate my full name (Elena (and i go by Lena) i though it was too long and too grownup sounding... and i wanted to switch my name to Chrysanthemum (and yes i did know how to count.... ) i just though it was the coolest name ever

A friend of my parents' named their girl Devionne - they put 2 names together since they couldn't pick one ... i don't know one of the names, but Devon was definitely the other :D

I think at one point I wanted to change my name to Chrysanthemum too! Did you have that children's book about the girl with that name? The only thing I remember from the book was that her name was half the letters of the alphabet and it barely fit on a nametag, haha. I think that's where I got the idea...I liked that her name was unique.

Anyway, I feel you (and some others) on not liking your given name. I started to go by my middle name a while back, once I finally realized that I didn't have to use my first name. I have always hated my first name and I never felt like it fit me, so now I try to make everybody call me by my middle name which I like much better.

However, enough about me. On the subject of names that are interesting, I used to know a guy whose first name was Reignbeau. He had a sister with an "unusual" name too but I can't remember exactly what it was because I only met her once, it was something like Moondust I think.

Whenever I have kids, if I have a boy I'm naming him Orion. I don't have a middle name or any girl's names picked out yet, but I'll probably keep with the same theme.

My parents named me Amanda Lynn. My mom says that she knew there was a musical instrument named a Mandolin, my dad on the other hand swears he only found out when I was 5 or 6 and someone asked if he named his son Banjo. He was so confused. I hated my name growing up. I got all the "A-Man-Duh" jokes. and my last name rhymed with Skeleton, and I was thin, so everyone called me that too :(. I wanted to change my name to Amber. Then I realized it's a bit of a stripper name.

yeh it was from a book... i think its from the Alice the Mouse series ( or something to that affect.. it was at least part of the series- a mouse named Chrysanthemum...hmm i still like that name... maybe if i have a kid someday... (better then what my bf wants to name kids- all after beer- Miller, Heinekin....)

Everyone considers my name to be unusual its Harmoni(pronounced Harmony) a lot of people could never say it or spell it right growing up. I named my first born Triniti Kaylin and second Jordyn Taylor both are girls I had to stick with my family tradition and be a little different also.

My daughter will probably be named Kahlan, which is pronounced the same as Kaylin :) (book character  )

when i was playing baseball, i always liked my easton bat. thought that would majke a great boys name lol. i could imagine now explaining to a son, you're named after a bat.

I started going by my middle name Marica (pronounced Mah-rye-kah) when I moved back to Calgary as there were quite a few other Amanda's in my school when I previously lived there. Marica is a Dutch version of Mary and the name my father, who is from Holland, chose for me. Though my dad continues to call me Mandi.

As we consider all our pets our kids, we've chosen mostly human names for them all. Our dogs are Leisha, Timmy (named Timon by his previous owners), Connor (Butch prior to us adopting him) and Logan; our cats are Fiona, Caiden, Nevan and Liam; and our corns are Keenan, Naomi, Athena and Helo (got a little carried away with our love of BSG with the last two). My partner is Irish hence a lot of Gaelic names. I also had two hamsters growing up that I named Jeffy and Casey, and two gerbils named Percy and Reggie (my mom always had Coronation Street on).

Not sure that I can think of anyone with a spectacularly 'cool' name that I've meet, though what someone else may think is cool, you may think is ridiculous. I got a baby names book when my mom became pregnant with my brother and have many names circled that I thought were cool at the time, but not so much anymore.

I do have one to add to the bad name combos: a vice-principal at my junior high school was named Harold Weiner...why he chose to go by Harry is beyond me.

There's a girl I went to school with named Princess. Literally. It's on her birth certificate and driver's license. I always asked her if she was going to change it to Queen when she got married. :p

My "alternative" name is Jimmy Ssin. However, I've also been known as Jessica-Anne Ssin. I like to refer to them as the good and evil twins of my Gemini. Jimmy is the evil twin while Jess is a good girl. She only teases. :grin01:
