DollysMom
It never gets old!
I'm pleased to introduce the new little girl I just brought home from Tinley. She has no name yet, and I'm taking my time with that decision. There certainly was a good selection, though ball pythons seem to predominate. So many snakes and so little time. What a rush to be there among so many herp lovers. How cool to see some of the big names in the business. And yes, I did see my first palmettos! Just slightly out of my price range... but I digress.
So how did a normal and checker belly lover come home with a butter motley? Well, when I saw her I knew. I did hold her and the okeetee next to her, but there was no question, this little girl was mine. Next to Dolly, she is the most beautiful and wonderful snake I've ever seen (and shouldn't your "mother" love you like that?)
Without further ado here is her first picture on arrival at home.
No weight yet, though I weighed her in her deli cup so when I can subtract the tare I'll have it. She's chilling in her deli cup in the viv and I'm giving her, her space right now. I also don't have a hatch date yet because its in Julian on the bottom of the deli cup, but she's about 2 months old. She's on frozen thawed and last ate on Monday.
I bought her a new baby size rock cave warm hide and a new small cork round as well as put in a few toilet paper rolls so when she departs the deli cup, she has plenty of hiding places.
I'm so happy. I was kinda hoping that Dolly would be sitting in the middle of the living room floor to greet his new sis, but no joy. That's the only thing that would make this day even better.
Though we couldn't stay the day we still had a total blast at Tinley. Here's a few pretty self explanatory pics.
And where I got my new baby:
