Cresyed love is always hot, lol!! Just a side note those chips in there are the number 1 cause of impaction deaths in cresteds so I hope you don't feed live in there. On an on topic note good luck with your first hatchlings they are always so funny right out of the egg!

Thanks! Actually I feed CGD almost 100% of the time. On occasion I will treat them to crickets, but in a separate container. :)

Yay Gecko Porn!

Lovely pair, can't wait to see the eggs and babies! Congrats!

Thanks! I'll be sure to post pics when/if babies happen.

Yea thanks for clarifying just saw a killer female die because the owner insisted orchid bark was safe to feed on...so sad. I wanna see little pippy noses!

Congrats can't wait to see baby cresties!

I want to eventually breed my leopard geckos and I think I'll have heart failure if my male bites her like that, especially after what he did to my finger (I'm a worry wort I guess lol).

She's TOTALLY crackin a smile in that first pic! Like, "yeaaah boys can't resist THIS cold butt!"

I almost did too. At first I wasn't sure if he was biting like fighting her or wanting to mate her. Then after a minute or two he was_well_umm_you know and I was like Ohhhhh. LOL

They will bite to subdue the female and let her know it's on so to speak. The female in many instances will bite back and all out fights can break out, but usually breeding thee guys is pretty mild compared to other rhac species.

How many hatchlings do you want? Remember these guys retain sperm very effciently. I decide ahead of time how many clutches I want from each pair and plan accordingly. If you want no more than 3-4 clutches separate within the first month seriously ater you can tell she is gravid. I say for each month they are together add another 2-4 clutches so I never leave them together longer than three months. Female cresteds need 4-5 months a year in which they do not lay at all as they suffer from calcium crash easily when overbred. Many a female has died this way and too many clutches of course encourages egg binding which is very serious though rare if you take precautions. Last year all my males were pulled in early July and I had clutches until October, lol!! This year I am only breeding the chahouas so all my females are getting a huge break and lots of ICB dusted crickets once a week to replenish their calcium reserves.

Thanks so much for the info! I really appreciate it. I am ordering some more CGD today and plan to order the "Repashy Calcium Plus". I want to give her a few more crickets and figured this will help with her loss of calcium. Is this a good idea or would you recommend some thing else?

I swear by Repashy ICB which is a calcium/vitamin duster for live food. I haven't EVER had calcium issues in my cresteds or chahouas, no tail kinks, no nothing just healthy little breeders. I feed all breeders live once a week and no one else gets live food because it isn't necessary, but dusting with this stuff is golden in my opinion. Just don't overfeed live a ome like to do these guys aren't insectivors and need the CGD to be the main staple. Good luck pippy snouts are soooo cute it will have you truely addicted, which is a great thing, lol!
