Sshhsshh....don't tell anybody, David. Thirty-seven. With down payments on two more. Both in California, now that I think about it. But that will be it.

Oh I feel better. I'm not the only one that does payments on snakes. I've never made a payment on a car in my life but snakes thats a different story.
I have some nice snakes and I'd have more if people were into doing payment plans. Hint,Hint. ;)

i found it hard to answer, as i didn't have any expectations as to how many i would have. what i will say is i have more than i thought i would a year ago...but i want more.

I got my first corn in the beginning of august..... annnd now I have 5 and I still havent gotten one of my fav. morphs- the bloodred. :D They are such addicting snakes. I love their personalities and of course the many many color combinations. :D

I put down that I have more corns than I expected and that I am "Un-happy" To be more precise I am un-happy that I dont have more! I started with getting one snow for my wife after a pet frog died so she could have a pink snake and now I have 5 snakes with plans for many more.

Every wife should have such a husband!

Oh come now, Eric. You and I both know that will NOT be "it." It's okay. We love you and your addiction. :D

... last May i got my normal corn as a graduation present. now i have 10 corns, a cal king, and a red tail boa. amazing what can happen in a few months huh? and that is without being able to make it to daytona :(
Yes, it's amazing. Kinda scary, but amazing. ;)

Payment plans? Gosh, I didn't know those existed. ....begins plotting....

That makes sense. Both parts make sense; not having expectations and wanting more!

Ain't it the truth! And have you noticed the variations within the morphs, let alone the many morphs out there? Tempting, isn't it? :devil01:

I have WAYYYY more than I ever expected and am HAPPY! (I've got 25 corns and 7 "other").
BUT, that HAPPINESS does not preclude me WANTING more.... LOL.

There are just way too many enablers on this forum! :D
And, I HOPE that I am one of those enablers... because others are enablers to me!!!

lol yess i have- i've been looking at Ian's vivarium morph page almost everyday.....:p

Well, I went to my first reptile show ever, and it is a small one here in Michigan, to get a RETF. When walking by all of the snakes I felt that twing in my heart and that voice in my head saying "you have always wanted a snake" and then that other voice I think from my Mom saying "wouldn't you want a pretty dress instead :p" Well I am 38 years old so I pushed my Mom's voice to the side and gave myself permission to get my first snake. That was July of this year that I came home with my first snake. I now have seven, going to the reptile show this weekend, and am now looking at racks, Oh and I got my first bulk shipment of mice today (it was worth it just to see the grossed out look on my boyfriends face :dgrin:).

Loving every minute of it all

Yep, started out with one Corn and now I am up to 55. also started breeding them and selling wholesale.:bang:

I definitely didn't expect to have as many as I do now when I got my first corn in April of '06. One of the girls that worked at the pet store I got her at had just over 20, and I thought that was a ton, and she must be nuts! Now I'm up to just over 30 corns, and just under 40 "other" snakes. Who's the crazy one now? :crazy01:

I always had snakes growing up but never corns my parents were into boas and pythons lucky me;) I went off to college, found geckos, fell in love, and have bred happily for almost 8 years. My daughter is the one who got me back into snakes who wanted boas as well, but with all the geckos I didn't have room for big boa caging so I got her a corn last christmas from Kathy Love her little Jaxson. In the past year we have added 6 more with a few more to come.....but only a few I swear:)

I only ever expected to have 2 or 3 corn snakes. Maybe one or two of some other species. But that's it.

Now I have 10 corns (not counting the 10 hatchlings), 9 snakes of 6 other species, and a bearded dragon. Not what I expected!! I am happy with them, though. =)

I never expected to have as many as I do. As of July 2008 I had 7 snakes (if I remember correctly, 5 of them were corns)...oh how the collection has grown! Luckily, even though the work gets a little annoying sometimes (although 95% of the time it is relaxing to hang out with the snakes for an evening of cleaning and feeding), I still love it and look forward to getting more.

Exactly! You speak for many of us.

Well, I wasn't going to mention any names... but they are pretty bad, aren't they?

When I spend time away from the forum, I have no desire for more snakes. As soon as I come back, I always end up with a few new snakes it seems. Funny how that works.

Lol, same here. I managed to resist getting my second snake for about a year, before I remembered CS.com and came back... Within a month, I had Lucy the Taiwan Beauty, Snake #2. A month after that, I got two corn snakes--Hansel and Greta--making 4 total. I swear, I've gotten at least one and as many as 6 snakes a month since becoming a "regular" lurker of CS.com... AND I've started breeding.

Actually, I just did some backtracking, and... Since December, counting the babies hatching in July, the only month I didn't get any snakes was September, and that's only because I was (and am) too broke to take advantage of Rich Z's sale...

You guys are NOT healthy! >=)

It's sure nice to know where I belong--here! I had bred and shown Pekingese dogs for 20 years and got fed up with the politics, plus Pekes often have problems. I always have loved and been fascinated by animals, loved finding salamanders, anoles, and crawdads when I was a kid. "Discovering" corn snakes was a revelation--I should have had them a long time ago! I started with three in 2006 and have over a hundred now, including three GTPs, two BPs and two Blue Beauties!

One thing that I think is important is to have a good system for maintaining them properly, keeping things organized, and a good record-keeping system. Iherp works really great for me.

Keep it up, everybody!
