LOL, I have witnessed a few cannibalism atttempts here, but none of them went very far. You know of all the attemps I have seen, all of them have been with Miami lines..... I wonder if it stems from thier love of anoles???
 
Sorry about your snake Clint. This might sound like a lame set of questions, but if you caught a cannibalism attempt in process, is there anything you can do about it? Can you gently try to massage the other snake out if it is not already too far in (kinda like induce a regurge)? Would it be possible to save the snake being eaten if it is not too far ingested? I was just curious if anyone has ever tried this.
 
I had this happen with a couple of hatchlings this year

One started to constrict a clutch mate. I grabbed the offender's tail with tongs, causing him to let go. I'm not sure what the outcome would be if the act of swallowing had already begun. The victim has usually been constricted and is dead by the time the swallowing starts ....
 
OUCH!! I too hope he passes it fine for you but if he does, I am sure he won't be having any company "over for dinner" again. Guess he just couldn't wait for his next meal. So sorry you had that happen.
