Does it hurt when you get bit?

Mum works as a veterinary nurse, whilst trying to sedate (or something?) a big boa constrictor, snakey didn't like it much and started to bit & constrict her arm, took 2 vets to prise it off her arm, saw the bruises (black & blue).... Mum, the soldier she is, said it weren't too painful...

My mom got bit a couple of times by her boa constrictor when I was little...she always warned me & went on & on about how much it hurt. Thinking back on it, now, though, I think she just said that to keep me cautious about the snake (she got it as a baby when I was three and it grew to be 8 ft long!). I've always been an animal nut, so if she hadn't told me that...repeatedly...I probably *would've* been trying to get that big ol' snake out on my own! (A good point to keep in mind for my own 2-yr-old...she's already as big an animal nut...or bigger...than I ever was!)

Anyone remember Elmira from Tiny Toons? :p

Nah. It just surprises you, but I wouldn't say it hurts. I've been bitten by one adult corn, one sub-adult ball, and a baby ball - so I know from experience! :D I can't say a retic bite wouldn't hurt, but I doubt a corn of any size causes much pain/damage.

Here's my corn bite...

After wiping off the blood... ooh, think I might need stitches?? LOL

And the snake (Coraline) who did it - note to self, don't bother a cranky corn in full shed.

P.S. That picture of Coraline was taken one second before the bite... so heed her warning, and don't mess with them in that state. ;)

I don't know how many times I have to tell you people, clean your fingernails before you take the picture.
