Saul's snake, Cloudy Sky, came home on Dec 23. He had last eaten on Dec 21/22 (overnight). We were trying very hard to leave the poor thing alone--I finally had to tape computer paper all around the viv with a big note: THREE MORE DAYS/ TWO MORE DAYS/ ONE MORE DAY just so it could get used to the viv for a few days in a row with no mootching.
Yesterday Saul handled him some, and then again this morning. Both were calm and sweet.
We just took him out of the viv and tried to transfer him into a plastic feeder tub. Was just going to put the top on with the thawed pinkie in there with him at first, then try tongs and a "pinkie dance" if needed. Poor thing. Inept Mommy and Excited Son couldn't get the top on the plastic tub, so Cloudy Sky's trying to excape the whole time. Aggh.
As soon as the lid snapped closed (without a tail tip in the way) Cloudy Sky struck at the pinkie and downed him. Yummers!
Wow. I'm a bit stunned.
I was sure I was going to have all sorts of feeding and handling issues. Hope I haven't jinxed myself! :sidestep:
